{iSSC31/KKS} Unicorn

This month, Kraftin' Kimmie is releasing another fun Krafty Klubhouse Kit....and Annie Rodrigue has illustrated some magical images! The set is called Three Wishes, and features a fortune teller, genie and unicorn (what I'll be showcasing today) as well as a shwack of magical sentiments!

When I was a little girl, I LOVED My Little Pony! This guy reminds me of my childhood:) He is quite comfortable in his own skin/hide..to be turquoise with a pink mane and tail!

I used this awesome satin reversible ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel. One of the many sentiments from this set was stamped and matted onto a MFT dienamic. Some paper-piecing and rounded corners add some design details.....

On a sad note, this will be my last post as a member of the iSpy Sketch Challenge DT. I have really enjoyed being on this FUN team, but the time has come to step down and let someone else in on the fun!! The iSpy girls are truly all wonderful people and supportive stampers, and I have loved getting to 'know' all of you:):) I am going to miss our Facebook chatter!! But I will continue to play along when I can and visit all the Secret Agents blogs:) Thanks for having me on your team Kim!!!

This week, we were inspired by THIS card from Karen Dunbrook (k dunbrook @ SCS). You can see what the other agents came up with on the iSSC blog, as well as deets and our linky tool:) Here is Kim's sketch (which I turned on it's side:)

Check out Kraftin' Kimmie's blog for details on how you can become a part of our Krafty Klub (and there is a special surprise for those who order this set)!

{Nikki Sivils/RC} Blog Hop!

The Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the talented designers from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker to bring you a blog hop jam packed with crafty eye candy and some prizes to sweeten the pot at the end of the rainbow!

Here is a little bit about Nikki Sivils:

At Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker, we create distinctive and original designs. Our designs are based upon two core beliefs which also serve as the foundation for our company and everything we do to support it.
We believe that scrapbooking, card making and crafting are always:
  • Authentic artistic expressions
  • Created with love
Our designs are driven by imagination; we strive to be different, not for the sake of being different, but to inspire you to express yourself in meaningful and fun ways. We mix elements from different sources, including styles, colors and materials. Our designs are genuinely eclectic. Our papers use vibrant colors with unique patterns and often contain irresistible characters. We are authentic in intention, action and results. We have achieved our goal if you are inspired (and tickled) when you see our paper.

I've used paper and a few elements from the kit Exit Here, which has a travel/ road trip kind of vibe, but I like to have alot of options when I buy scrap kits. I really found that the paper punchouts, letters and designer paper didn't get me 'stuck' in the intended theme...there was lots of room for wandering!
I also used one of my fave new stamps sets from There She Goes, Oh Crop. I remember my crewmate Jessie did a fabby pigs flying card when this set was released and I've had those little piggies on my mind ever since!

I used one of the flower punchouts for my sun, adding a yellow button (OA Cakewalk, find them at the RC HERE) and tied it off with a Divine Twine double bow in one of the new colours, Peach.

The little punchout sentiment is so sweet and it's actually what made me dig for my TSG piggie's:) I topped it off with another button and Baker's Twine bow in green, along with some wraps around the card front with the same green twine.

Now, lets talk prizes!

The Ribbon Carousel will be giving away a $25 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store and Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker will be giving away a scrapbooking kit (winner's choice!) Enjoy the hop andbe sure to leave some blog love along your way to be eligible for the prizes! Winners will be announced Saturday night at 8:00 PM EST.

{TCP223} Water, Water everywhere!

Hiya! This week Susan is our hostess at The Cat's Pajamas, and she wants us to get wet! Use any stamp set with a water theme and our Wave Cutup or Snowflake cutups (Snowflake Lace Paper or Snowflake).

I made a baby card, just to have on hand....it's a little busier than I intended, but that's okay;) I used Whale of a Time and the Wave Cutup. I also snuck in some Heart Trio cutups:) Some SU ribbon and cord button and some pink jute twine (Ribbon Carousel) and little white brads and pearl on her hat, finish it off!

Check out Alma's blog for links to all of the DT participating today (you can see updates on her sidebar) and for all the details on how you can be our weekly winner or even Swanky Stamper of the month!

{KKS} New Release Hop

Hope you've been enjoying all of our previews in this months Kraftin' Kimmie release!! The images are all available NOW in the KKS store HERE!!
For the new release blog hop, I've chosen to use a really fabby new image from the oh-so-talented Annie Rodrigue. You've seen the Candy Girls and they are all so great!! There isn't one that I don't adore!
I am using Bambi Bubblegum....she has the the sassiest look to her;)

I honestly had SO MUCH FUN colouring and paper-piecing her!! And the bubble is just sweet!! I used some Crystal Effects to give that wet and shiny look....same with her buckle and the gumball machine.

{KKS Preview} Candy Girls

Such a fun day over at Kraftin' Kimmie stamps today!! Annie Rodrigue has illustrated a fun bunch of moonlight whispers, Candy Girls!
And we have a great sketch challenge this week as well:) You can see that over at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog!

I LOVE POPCORN!!!!!!! Yes, it is my complete and utter weakness. It doesn't matter what kind of diet I am *trying* to follow. If I've just ate a turkey dinner or am starving as can be, if I just got over the stomach flu....I will fit make any and all exceptions for popcorn!
So I was so thrilled to see this adorable Pippa Popcorn image (and I like her hair, cuz it reminds me of mine when it's really wild!)....

I used a flower MFT die to make popcorn accents- at least I hope that's what they look like!! I crumpled them up and inked them with yellow and caramel ink. Some black machine stitching and gold brads add some fun design elements. I did a fair bit of sponging on this one.....

Thanks for popping by (hehe)....and remember we have some FREE Candy Girl stamps to give away, so keep commenting!! xo

{KKS Previews} Too Cute to Spook

My card today, features an adorable image from one of two new sets by artist Emilie Goulet. This little mummy's boy (hehe) is from the set Too Cute to Spook 2 and I stinkin adore him!!! Mom with the roll of toilet paper just kills me!

I used the sketch from this weeks iSpy Sketch Challenge (#29). This week we were inspired by Renee Matarese (Renlymat @ SCS) based on THIS CARD. You can see our sketch and what the other gal's came up with on the iSSC blog.

We are giving away two sets of Emilie's images...all you need to do is comment!! See you tomorrow for another peek!

{KKS Preview} Ladybug Lulu

Today, the Krafty Girls and Guests are giving you a little peek of Cheryl Alger's new images....Little Lulu all dressed up for Halloween!

I've used a few MFT dies, as well as spellbinders for the main oval and scalloped oval panels.

That's it for me! Remember to leave some love on the designers blogs, as there will be one lucky person taking home this set!

{RCC66} Keep it Cool

Hey there!! I am this weeks hostess over at the Ribbon Carousel and I challenge you to make a summer themed project! OMGosh- soooooo sad that it's coming to an end sooner than we think:( But hopefully the RC crew can draw out those lazy days of summer for just a little while longer!!!

I used this weeks sketch from My Favorite Things, along with one of their sweet PI images, Sprinkler Girl. The sentiment is stamped on the Say What? dienamic.  I did something new here as well. I stamped the little girl in Memento Toffee Crunch, rather than the usual black I use. You can still colour with copics, as all Memento inks are alcohol friendly:) Makes the whole card look a little bit softer, and with the pastelly colours, I thought black ink might be a bit too harsh. I used some jumbo silver brads (michaels) and jillibean soup Easter paper!! The little house strip is supposed to be chicken coops I think, but I thought that they kind of looked like raised beachhouses! The cardstock is Bazzill Card Shoppe  (Cotton Candy and Robins Egg). The silver squiggley clip is from my stash, but RC is now selling them to keep our favorite spiral clip junkie, Jessie, happy;) You can see the ones we have available HERE. I used some new Divine Twine in Peach and pink swiss dot satin ribbon.

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

We'd love for you to join us this week! Here are the details:
  • Make your NEW creation following the ribbon carousel challenge of the week. Any submissions made prior to the challenge date will be deleted. Be sure to include some type of ribbon, twine, hemp, lace....basically, anything that comes on a spool.
  • Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, (use the keyword RCC66) with a direct link back to THIS post. Including the challenge graphic isn't a requirement, but sure is appreciated! (A participant of our very first challenge didn't link back or mention our challenge and couldn't be named Top Spool, so don't let that happen to you!)
  • Link up your creation using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of this post. Your image may take a little while to pop up, but don't worry, it will appear shortly.
  • Come back the Friday after the challenge ends to see if YOU are a Top Spool!

{KKS141} Duck, Duck..........Duck?

Hello!! Today's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge (#141) is being hosted by Angie. She wants us to use an animal or insect image- NO PEOPLE!! I used an oldie for this one....Buggy Full of Ducks. Unfortunately, it isn't available for purchase anymore, as it's retired.
I've also used some old paper. Let's just call this a vintage card;) I had been in search of this particular paper pad (old October Afternoon) for sometime, and my sweet pal Jodi sent me some out of the goodness of her heart:) What an angel! lol

I made this card pretty gender-neutral. My SIL is expecting a baby in September, so this might be for her...and we don't know if baby is a she or a he!! I PUFFY HEART those kind of surprises!! Eek~ so excited!

I've also used ribbon and twine from my very favorite ribbon store, the Ribbon Carousel. Here you can see Ivory jute twine and orange satin double banded grosgrain ribbon. And they are having a HUGE summer blowout sale!!! Check it out! Savings from 30-50% off!

And guess what else? Kimmie asked her daughter Emileigh to choose a boatload of her favorite Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and the prices on those stamps have been knocked down 30-50% off as well!! Ack!! Gotta love that!

And just cuz I'm in a good mood with all these wicked sales about....I have decided to throw together some Kraftin' Kimmie and Ribbon Carousel BLOG CANDY!!! Whoop! I'm not telling you exactly what is in the prize, but it's definitely going to be a gooder (and it will include this image, as well as many others)! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. It can be about anything, but since I am leaving on a 2 week vacay why don't you tell me about your favorite holiday or family vacation! The funnier and more dysfunctional, the better;)

(Please note: The winner won't be announced until I get home near the end of August, so you have lots of time to comment)

{YNS/iSSC28} Oh Wise One

Today I have a fun card to show you using a brand new image from Your Next Stamp, Grad Owl. This months YNS Fun Friday theme is Celebrations (you may remember that last months was Christmas/Winter). You can see more inspiration from the YNS DT girls on the BLOG.

I used this weeks sketch from iSpy Sketches for my layout....
this week the iSSC team was inspired by Mary Brown (stampercamper @ SCS). You can see Mary's original card HERE. The other Secret Agents have come up with beautiful cards, you can check them out on the blog HERE.

I actually used the owl in place of the bow on the sketch- feel free to mix things up and make it your own! That's what makes sketches so fun....they give you a great kicking off point, but you can also put your own individual spin on it:)

I used some of my fave brown jute twine from the Ribbon Carousel for the button threaded bow and for his cap tassels.

Okay- thats it for me:) Thanks for stopping by!

{KKS140} Out of the Box

Time for another Krafty Challenge with Kraftin' Kimmie. This weeks challenge is hosted by the lovely Kerry and she wants us to use the 'out of the box' technique! This is kind of a fun technique that I use every so often (usually when I want to use a nestie that my image doesn't fit nicely inside of;) Something hanging out of the perfect circle can now look intentional!!!

I inked up Miss Marina, colouring her with copics and adding stickles to her tail, barettes and top, as well as her fishy friend;) The sentiment is hilarious and it's from the Mermaid Sentiments set....

I masked Marina with masking tape, and airbrushed behind her. You know when rays of light penetrate through water and there can be that stunning rainbow effect? Well, thats kind of what I was going for here! lol! Try to picture snorkelling in the tropics somewhere, not the murkey lakes of central Alberta;) The pics really don't do it justice- it looks so cool IRL! Ha!

Some yummy lavendar ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel and Prima resin flowers add some flair:)

If you would like to play along this week, please link up your cards on the Krafty Challenge Blog HERE, and be entered for a chance to win a new KK stamp!!

{YNS Sneak Peek} Hanging out with Baby

Hey there- time for another release from Your Next Stamp! Today I'll be showing you a little CAS set of cards made with two new stamp sets: Welcome Baby Sentiments and Welcome Baby!

I've made a little matching set, one for boy and one for girl! I thought all the little baby bits hanging off bakers twine clotheslines would be sweet, along with the adorable sentiment and simple embossed BG. Plain silver brads for the boy and blingy crystal brads for the girl!! Onsies and socks were paper pieced and the rest was coloured with copics.

If you would like to see more previews from the YNS designers, Karen has links posted on the blog:) Thanks for visiting!

{TSG167} Taking Care of Me!

Another JFFC.....Just For Fun Card!! Can you believe it? I just recieved a small order of 3 There She Goes stamps a few weeks ago and have been itching to use them, and then I WON the TSG release this month at the Facebook release party!!! EEK!!! I almost dropped, I tell ya!! So, needless to say, I felt inspired to get cracking on a card from this lovely company....and I honestly am mortified that I have not made a TSG card since my term with them ended in February. Yes. I feel shame.

Some of you also may know that I am a Registered Nurse, and love nursey-stamps, so when this one came out, I NEEDED IT!!!!!!!!!! It's called Get Well Wishes and aren't the little nurses cuh-ute??? And I love that there is a male nurse!!! So cool! I was just going to use the little fella, but then I was having so much fun paper-piecing his little scrubs, that I had to do her too!! Haha!! I LOVE crazy bright scrubs- the visually impaired patients can see you coming!! I would totally wear either one of these outfits to work!!

I followed Jessie's colour challenge this week: Green, orange and blue. LOVE! Such a fun combo! And guess what? I am also using Jessie's Dare to Get Dirty Challenge going on this week at SCS (you have to be a member to see the Dirty Girl Challenges and play along- some pretty wicked prizes awarded too!!!) While I was on a roll, I thought I should get crazy and incorporate Jessie's (wow- she's a popular one today- I'm starting to feel a restraining order coming on;) Wednesday Trend technique: Paper-piercing. She has some great tips, so you can check them out on here post HERE:)

The green twill ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel and lemme tell ya, this stuff is smooth! I want jammies made of this ribbon...or at least a throw pillow to plant my big ol' head on;)

Ah, feels great to make a card just for me:)) Medicine for the soul!As always, thanks for stopping by:)
