{Tiddly Inks} Too Tweet!

Hey there- I have one last Tiddly Inks card to show you for the DT call that's going on over there (you can find all of that info on that HERE). When we were recently on holidays (went to Vancouver Island and then down into Washington on our way home) there was A LOT of driving (as in 3000 km's!!), so like any good stamper, I took along my copics and a stack of images I've been meaning to colour. So when roads were smooth-ish or hubby was getting fuel, I coloured!
I normally choose papers for my card before I colour anything, so this pre-colouring is not my usual method. It sometimes can pose a challenge in finding the right DP. But it's also really nice to have 1/2 of the work already done when you sit down to make a card.

I've used Wryn and Wren- Too Tweet. This 'tweet' sentiment also comes with the image, so that's a bonus!
She is, of course, coloured with copics (I added some pastel shading later on). I used Echo Park's All About a Boy 6x6 paper pad- and I don't think this card is boyish at all, so don't let the theme of the collection always decide how you are going to use it!! I did some faux-stitching with a white sharpie paint pen. CS is Stampin' Up, dies and hemp are MFT and the wooden heart button is a Michaels brand. The card measures 5x5 square. The layout is the current SSSC (#189).

{TSG218} Paper-piecing with ME!

This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, ME!!  I am  challenging you to make a card or project using paper piecing.

I've used the super cute elephant from the set It's a Jungle Out There. As you can see, I pieced his ears for a fun twist! I tied a little hemp knot around his tail (so he doesn't 'forget'). I used MFT Fishtail flags and a wooden heart button tied with MFT hemp cord. The sketch I used is last weeks Retro Sketch (#73) .

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using paper piecing, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 5th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. {Tiddly Inks} Breathe Easier

I have another entry for the Tiddly Inks designer call that's going on this month. You can find all of the details HERE if you would like to throw your hat in for a chance to be on the TI team! I just started collecting a few Tiddly Inks images not that long ago, but just never had the time to use them (I'm sure you all know how that goes!! lol) Lately, I've had a bit more stampy time on my hands and have started using a few companies that I hadn't had the chance to before! Change is good they say ;)

I made a 5x7 home decor frame using Wryn- New Wings. I am in LOVE with these Wryn images~ I went through my TI digi's and Wryn's are all I have at the moment, lol!

I used a computer generated sentiment, printed it out and die cut and sponged. I love the quote, 'To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived- that is to have succeeded' Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I used OA DP, sponged with distress ink and machine stitched 1" strips to a white CS base. The image is coloured with Copics and pastels. I added a twill bow, tearing a 1.5" strip (SU) in half to get the frayed look. I wanted the bow to look like cotton dressing strips. I added a button (PTI) tied with hemp cord (MFT). I used a Deconstructed Sketch (109) for my layout.

I LOVE the way this turned out! It's staying with me, and is going to decorate my studio! Thanks for popping in today :D

{KKS} Things with Wings

This week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is brought to us by Cheryl. She is challenging us to make a card using 'things with wings'! SUPER FUN, right?!?

I've used one of the Fairies from the set Pretty Little Pixies (totally LOVE this set! You NEED it!) I've coloured her up with copics and paired her with crochet trim, hemp cord, Prima paper and a Prima flower embellie for a soft vintage look. I also added sponging (distress ink in Fine Linen) and machine stitching with an cream thread. CS is X-press it Blending card and SU. Circle STAX dies are by MFT.
Here's a close up of that pretty flower and big double hemp bow.

Play along this week for your chance to win a new KKS stamp! And check out the Frugal Friday sales this weekend!

{Tiddly Inks} Happy Birthday Cowgirl!

Hey there! Long time, no blog! I've been on holidays for the past 2 weeks, so all of my posts you have been seeing (which haven't been too many) have been pre-scheduled. I decided to whip up a card for the Tiddly Inks design team call (you can find all the info HERE). I printed off some digi's before I left and coloured up a few during the long hours on the highway! All I had to do today was put the card together :) I think TI *might* be my newest obsession!!!

I used Howdy Cowgirl, printed her onto X-press Blending stock and coloured with copics and pastels. I used some new cowgirl Carta Bella paper, SU! CS, MFT twine and dies and did a little sponging and stitching! I love the little rolls of barbed wire around the rose! So country-chic ;)
My LO is the current MOJO Monday Sketch (MOJO303).

Here's the inside. I used stamps by MFT (Howdy), SU and MFT ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Best of luck to all who are applying! I just checked out my competition and it is STEEP!!!! lol

{TSG217} You're to Dive For!

This week our challenge is brought to us by Jessie!  She has challenged us to make a card or project using the provided sketch!

I've used this cute lil diver from the TSG set: Aquaholic. This is such a fun set for the summer!! He's coloured with copics and I've added glaze pen to his snorkel, water wings, goggles and flippers!
The sentiment was stamped onto an MFT die and the button is Papertrey Ink, tied with jute twine. I paper-pierced the edges of the main panel. CS is by SU! I tipped the sketch on it's side also.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a card or project using this sketch, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (July 29th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

{KKS} New Release Hop!

I've got two cards to share with you for the Kraftin' Kimmie new release hop! Both use the set 'You've Got Game'! First up we have Lulu as Golf Girl!

Our lil Lulu is quite the athlete! Next she is chopping by to say hi, with some karate moves!

The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from MFT.

Below you'll find a list of links to all of the Krafty Girls participating in tonights hop!!

{KKS188} Fishin' Friends

Today at Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, we have three new sets by RAM to show you!! I used this sweet image to make a little card for my nephew.

I coloured the image with copics and coated the pond and bucket with Glossy Effects. I added some coordinating ribbon and jute twine and an orange button to tie in that orange pail :) I paper-pierced the main image panel to add interest. The sentiment die is MFT.

{KKS} Woodland Friends

I am so excited about today's card for the Kraftin' Kimmie previews! We have a great new set by one of our newest artists, Thais Narsisco, called Woodland Friends. We are also showing off the 3rd (yes, that's right!) set from Cheryl today, called Good Sports.

Now, I have to confess to you the reason why today's card excites me so much: I have NO confidence or idea what to do when it comes to colouring three main subjects: flowers, trees and animals.  This image has two of those things. I was skeered ;)
Secondly, I really am not overly clear on the exact colourings of a racoon. You RARELY see them where I live, so my experience is mostly from cartoons (LOL! Remember the show 'The Racoons'???) I'll admit that I googled 'racoon images' and went from there with my image :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE how he turned out!!! I added a bit of pastel pencils at the end to provide some deeper shades, and added glaze pen to the apples and mushrooms. I added some grass in there as well.

I added some natural jute twine and a red button, and the border die is by MFT. I sponged the edges and machine stitched in a cream thread.

{KKS} Lil' Athletes/ You've Got Game

GAME ON for day two of Kraftin' Kimmie's July previews, and we've got TWO sets from Cheryl Alger to show you: Lil' Athletes and You've Got Game!

Both my youngest boys played their first year of softball and T-ball this year, so I chose to use the ball player Lucas from Lil' Athletes for my card.

He's coloured with Copics and pastels. I did some sponging with Kraft Ink and added some jute twine to keep it masculine. And LOVE the sentiment! So sweet and clever and perfect for those volunteer coaches and parent that help out!

{KKS} Flower's Feed the Soul

Hi there! Welcome to DAY ONE of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps July release!! We've got two great sets from Nicole to show you today!! I am working with Flower's Feed the Soul. I adore pansies, so I was so excited to try my hand at colouring them. I normally really dislike colouring flowers, so this was a challenge for me, but I am happy with the results! I copied the colours of the flowers in one of my pots. I added one more bloom and added it on top with a dimensional.

I used some MFT dies and vintage seam binding. I also did some sponging for an antique Victorian feel.

{TSG215} Animal House

This week our challenge is brought to us by Karin! She has challenged us to make a card using animals and stripes! TSG has so many sets that include animals, this should be an easy one.

I used one of my favorite TSG sets for this one, Oh Crop! I masked the cows, coloured with copics and added glossy effects to them. I added in my own grass. The sentiment was stamped on MFT fishtail flags die-namics and I anchored it with a OA button and jute twine. The striped paper is from Simple Stories and I used X-press It blending stock and SU black CS.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using this week’s challenge, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. {KKS186} Guns 'n Roses!

It's the weekend! Hope everyone had a Happy Canada Day and Fabulous Fourth of July this week, depending on where you hang your hat and call home! We had a really fun long weekend here in Alberta, camping out and hitting up some fun Canada Day festivities with the family! We had a whole gang of us (my parents, one of my brothers, his wife and their 3 kids, my cousin and her hubby, my aunt and uncle, and of course me and my hubby and our 3 boys). So much food, fun and sun! Temperatures were +35* celsius!!! OMG. Hot! Our trailer felt like it was parked in the depths of H, E, double-hockey-sticks!!! Glad for a few 'cooler' days this week!!

This week we have a fun challenge from Diana, from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I think maybe Diana is a die-hard GNR fan, by the title of her challenge ;) To play, all you have to do is use metal and flowers on your card- guns and roses!

Here is my card, featuring Lucas from the set Let's Dish the Dirt.

Close-up:

I coloured the image with copics, adding clear glaze pen (sakura) to the flowers here and there. My metal element on this card is obviously brads. I used various MFT dies (flowers, fishtail flags, circle). CS is MFT (lemon drop) and SU. The image is stamped on x-press it blending card in memento ink. The sentiment was stamped in MFT's black licorice. DP is by Echo Park.

I've also used this week's Mojo sketch- KKS is sponsoring, as well as a schwak of other awesome companies, so check it out! LOADS of prizes to be had!

You can check out all of the creations from the other Krafty Girls HERE! We'd love to have you play along this week! And don't forget about our sale, in celebration of Mojo Monday's 300th sketch! This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Tobi! She is challenging YOU to make a card or project CASEing a Trendsetter…but the catch is, you have to CASE something made for the last release!! Our Trendsetters work very hard to inspire you, so show them what you got!!

I've used Scent-sational and CASE'd Trendsetter Jessie! I loved the layout that she used on THIS fabulous release card (and have a stash of spiral clips that are screaming for attention ;) )

I coloured Stinky up with my copics, using T's and C's and added some green eyes and glossy effects to his eyes and nose. The DP is MME, CS is Stampin Up!, and buttons/ribbon/twine are MFT, as well as the heart and sentiment die. Believe it or not, my spiral clips are actually from Chapters! I found them with the office supply/stationary stuff and they are in a nice, convenient lil' tin!
