{KKS} May Release Hop!

Welcome to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps May release HOP!! For my card today, I have chosen to work with one of the cute kids from Ahoy, Sailor! by artist Cheryl Alger. I love the nautical look that's trending right now, so this was my fave set of the release!!

I chose a non-traditional colour palette to make my card a girly one :) I used a heavyweight vellum for the doily oval behind the image panel and the larger die cut portions of the flowers. The smaller flowers are a touch smaller and use various patterned scraps from the pad. I added some MFT buttons and twine, as well as a wooden veneer anchor charm.  I added the sentiment onto a vellum flag. The DP is by Simple Stories Homespun.

Check out the rest of the inspiration on the rest of the hop- all of links to the Krafty Girls and Guests can be found below….

I made this card for my son Jake, who turned 8 yesterday! I love this little wooden boat embellie with the '8' etched into it!! I used dies, buttons and twine from MFT…the paper is Kaisercraft (it's actually a space themed pad, but I thought some patterns worked nice with the nautical trend)…I did a lot of distress sponging on this one. He's coloured with copics and a wee bit of pastels. The sketch that I used for my LO is this week's SSSC #220…I was unable to participate in the sketch reveal with my SSSC teamies, but I finally made it to the party- just very late ;)

I've used Little Orphan Annie for my card today. She is of course, coloured with Copics. The dies are by MFT, and I kept it simple and added some silver brads for embellishments. The DP is October Afternoon.

{TI} Bless Your Nest

This week our challenge at Tiddly Inks is called 'head in the clouds', so interpret that however you want! I used Wryn-Eggcellent News and sponged some clouds in behind the image. I also did some sponging with grey ink around the edges of the layers, added some stitching, twine and a wooden button. The sentiment is from a SugarPea Designs stamp set. The DP is Pickled Pear from KaiserCraft and the 6x6 pad came with some fun die cut pages as well. That's where I plucked out the scallop border from.

We hope you'll join in with us this week! You can find all the details on the challenge blog HERE. Thanks for stopping by!! xo

{SPDSS03} Some bunny special...

Hey there! I hope all of you amazing mama's out there had a great day yesterday, and if you aren't a mom, then I hope you got to spend the day with your own mom!!
My husband and I got up fairly early and cooked an amazing brunch for our moms (dads came too), including tons of fruit and chocolate for dipping (oh yeah!), eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and these amazing muffins…it was my first time making them and OMG they were delicious!! My hubby did all of the dishes and the kids played while I had a nap on the couch. I took some time in the afternoon for myself to make this card and then my boys took me on a date to the new Amazing Spiderman 2 movie. All in all, it was a pretty fantastic day and I am so lucky that God chose me to be mom to these three amazing little boys! I am blessed beyond measure!!
Here is my card for you today, using SugarPea Designs new Sweet Sketch!

I used the new set Pure Magic, only using the lower portion of the stamp…..the sentiment is from One Big Hoppy Family.

The rules are very simple…
  • Create a new card or project using the SugarSketch provided.
  • SugarPea Design stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)
  • You may rotate/flip the sketch & replace shapes – so long as the original sketch layout is recognizable
  • Upload to your blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: SPDSS03 so that we may check out your beautiful work
  • Add your name and link to your project in the InLinkz shown HERE.

{TI} Birthdays and Books...

We've got another Fabulous Friday for you at Tiddly Inks- lots of cards to hopefully inspire you over the weekend! Maybe Mother's Day for you involves some uninterrupted crafty time? For me, I asked my hubby and boys to take me to The Amazing Spiderman 2 movie!! Ha! I am such a dude! I love movies like that, and with four males in the house and only one girl, I think that's okay :)

I've used School Girl on my card today- and guess what? She's a steal at only $1.00!! I actually used some Easter paper from Authentique, but these were the colours I was going for and I'm not one to really limit my seasonal paper to it's intended holiday :) If you look closely, you'll see the words from Peter Cottontail on the script DP- but hey, that was a pretty good story!
This card is actually a Mother's Day/Birthday card for my Mother-in-law. Her birthday is Saturday, so she gets a combo gift and card! She's a teacher and an avid reader, so I'm sure she'll like this :) I got her a gorgeous pair of amethyst Pandora earrings and a GC to Chapters…aren't I the best Daughter-in-law?! I'll put hubby's name on the card too, I guess….after all, he'll be paying the MC bill next month;)

Other Supplies: MFT dies and button; Authentique DP; SU CS; natural jute twine; distress inks; diamond stickles; Verve stamps sentiment; versa fine ink; copics; pastel pencils; SU dimensionals; sewing machine and thread

{SPD} Pure Magic

Welcome to the fourth, and final day of SugarPea Designs Sweet Sneaks! Today we are showing you the cutest lil boy set: Pure Magic, from the Sugar Snap Collection.

Okay, I'm just gonna be honest with ya. I love this card. It came out better than I had even planned, so that always makes a person a wee bit excited about their work! Right? lol! or am I just a weirdo? So I am seriously going to bombard you with pictures, because I took a lot! Haha! Get comfy, grab a coffee.

I coloured him with copics, adding a bit of pastel pencil for darker shading. I covered the yellow on his vest and bow tie with gold spica pen. The dress shirt is paper-pieced and the bow tie is popped up on the edges. I added some gold paper and enamel dots and the dies are from YNS (stars), MFT (sentiment) and TCP (moustache). I also tied some jute twine in black around the card panel.

Glossy accents were added to the buttons, card, eyes and wand tip. I also added some to the stars and dots on the bow tie and sprinkled on some rock candy glitter.

Would you like to WIN the Pure Magic stamp set?! Hop along and visit with the SugarPeas and guests, leaving some comment love along the way! One lucky person will be randomly selected to win the Pure Magic stamp set!

We will be announcing the winner of today's stamp set AND the winner of the ENTIRE MAY RELEASE at our online release party on the SugarPea Designs Facebook page this Thursday night between 8:00 and 9:00 PM EST! We'd love to have you come chat with us, everyone is welcome!
