{KKS} Cloud Tutorial

Today I am the featured designer for Kraftin' Kimmie's Tips and Tutes segment! I did a quick video on how I sponge the cloud background behind my stamped images. And please be gentle. I know I am terrible at videos, for multiple reasons: I don't plan ahead, it's all on the fly; I ramble like a drunk who has somehow obtained control of a microphone at a classy function (don't ask if this has ever happened to me); I have no tech skills. It's quite sad really; and I have a potty mouth, so pretty much the whole time I'm 'on camera' I am preoccupied with not cussing. That would be bad for business.

So you can see that I must really love my Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to put myself through the hell and self scrutiny of making a video;)

I used the set Lil' Swashbucklers. I made this a girly pirate card, co-ordinating colours with an older EP pad (maybe last year?). I added some TCP cloud border die clouds, chopped up to be individuals. The sentiment is stamped on one, and a button/twine (TCP) embellie on another. I did some machine stitching and added enamel dots (MME). And my video is actually a quick how-to on sponging the cloud background! You can watch that video HERE! But don't feel like you have to. But if you do, then leave me a nice comment. But if you hate it, remember what your mama taught you- 'if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all' ;) Peace out!

  1. Great tutorial. I especially love that it wasn't perfect at the end because most of us aren't and then you explained you'd throw an embellishment on it. Perfect! By the way, your coloring skills are great and your sewing stitches are nice and straight. I can't seem to manage that and I used to make quilts. Maybe a tutorial on that would be great. Thanks.

  3. You *totally* didn't ramble. Well, not until you talked about how you tend to ramble, but even that wasn't even rambling per se ;-) We're always so hard on ourselves! For someone who thinks she sucks at videos, you did a really great job. Love your clouds and your cards!
