{MFT} Hello, Cupcake!

Hey there- just a quick post tonight, showing you a card that I made for my nieces first birthday!

I used MFT's Hello Cupcake. She is coloured with copics and pastels and I pieced her lil dress. I used the Blueprints 1 die-namics (LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!! Makes putting cardfronts together soooo simple!). I added a flower embellie using the Pretty Posies die-namic and tied off the button with Hemp Cord. The DP and button are both October Afternoon's Cakewalk collection. The paper is so retro vintage looking that I wanted a distressed look, so I sponged with Kraft Ink. The sentiment was of course stamped with Black Licorice ink.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the set Something Special Just for You. The border is Simply Scallops Small.

{TSG} Apple of My Eye

 Jessica and Tobi have been hard at work creating an AMAZING new set for us, Chalkboard Memories. If you are familiar with the VERY popular Chalkboard Technique, this set was created for that particular style!! It is full of SUPER cute images, and FABULOUS sayings…and the chalkboard itself? Fantastic!

I stamped my sentiment onto an MFT apple die cut(an apple chalkboard would be soooo fun, dontcha think?) in SU's white craft ink and embossed with white EP. I then used my finger and the white ink to add some smudges of chalk dust. The DP and other elements (button, bird card) are October Afternoon, CS is Stampin' Up. Not sure what brand the alphabet twill is. I added some Distress ink around the edges of my papers for that vintage look! I really love the way this card turned out, even though I seem to struggle with stamp images that don't require colouring ;)

Chalkboard Memories is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 18 stamps and will sell for $18.00 . The new stamps will be available on Saturday, April 27^th at 11pm.

{MFT} Rooting for You

Time for another weekly sketch challenge from My Favorite Things!

I've used the new PI: Little Gardener, coloured her with Copics and pastels and paper-pieced her boots. I CANNOT resist piecing boots!! Just can't! They are so darned cute and little patterns from 6x6 pads are so perfect for it :)

In retrospect, I probably should have coloured her overalls something other than green, so that the plant stood out more, but by the time I realized that, I was too far in ;)
I did add some glaze pen to the leaves (as well as the buttons, hair pretty and her eyes) to help it stand out more, and it does make it better IRL, trust me!
Here's a better pic where you can see the shine! The sentiment was stamped onto one of the Sentiment Strips die-namics. The bottom scallop is one of the new Open Scallop Trio die-namics.
I added a Banana Split button, tied with Hemp.

Here is the inside. I stamped the PI again in Orange Fizz ink, and added another sentiment in Black Licorice.

Oh yeah, I wanted to show you the new personalized stamp that I ordered through Etsy (StampOutOnline). I've always wanted a nice custom stamp that I could use on the back of my cards, with my name and website! I saw this little company featured on one of the blogs I subscribe to on my google reader, and decided to check them out, as she was very happy with hers! I ordered one (you can choose one of their designs or combine a few to create what you like- cost is more to do that). I loved the fonts and had a hard time choosing! I'm really happy with the one that I decided on! I love the font, and the boldness of it, and of course I love anything stars! It stamps great (that MFT premium dye ink is perfect!) and comes pre-mounted on an acrylic block AND most importantly, it's a clear stamp! It's pretty obvious when you are stamping one thing on a card, especially near the bottom, if it's crooked!! Shipping was FAST! Even to Canada!! {TSG} Shiver Me Timbers

It took a little begging, but we finally got Torico to illustrate a pirate set for us!! If you “need a little ‘aye’ candy”, well then “X marks the spot”.

I added some chest hair with my Black Spica pen (hehe) and used that on his beard as well, to give it a glistening look ;) I also used various spica's and copics on the 'sand' under his feet. Glaze pen was applied to the metal bits on the treasure chest.
The HILARIOUS sentiment is from the Ship Happens set. I LOVE this mini set!! SO MUCH FUN!

{KKS} Tic-Tac-Toe

Well, welcome back for another supah fun challenge here at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

I've used the new Little Bo Peep! I followed the top horizontal line and used Blue, Eyelets, and Ribbon. This was a definite challenge for me, as I hate eyelets! lol! I have a ton though, from when I first started out and loved them, so I am three more down with this card done ;) Hehe!
