{Aug SFYTT} Baking Agnes

Eek! Last semi-week before school starts! The kids go back on Thursday and my middle monkey will be starting kindergarten:( I am not looking forward to not seeing the boys for huge chunks of time....yes, the time I will have to spend with the baby 1:1 will be awesome, but I seriously miss the boys when they are in school. No, I don't overly miss them when I am on a beach in Mexico, sipping tropical drinks and soaking up the rays...but everyday life without them with me makes me sad. I am sappy I guess! I feel that they are only little for such a short time that I want to drag it out as much as I can!
On another note, my husband told me my blog is not as good as it used to be. I says huh?? Apparantly I was funny and now I'm not. Well, he was once young and good looking...and, well....
He likes reading about my little daily hang-ups and catastrophes...I am starting to wonder if maybe he's a closet sadist. I have nothing horrifying to report today, but cross your fingers honey, and maybe something traumatizing will happen later. The day is still young and I am heading to the beach with the boys, so that in itself is an invitation for trouble.
Onto crafting. My good friend, Trista, asked me to make a few cards for her. She gave me the general theme that she wanted based on the recipients interests. The first is a birthday card for a friend, who likes cooking and baking. I had this Kraftin Kimmie image, Agnes, coloured up from when I took my copics and a bunch of stamped images on a road trip this summer with the fam. I think I coloured her pretty good considering the old man's driving. Don't you just love Agnes' 'mom bum' and sport socks? Hilarious! Kraftin Kimmie is sponsoring Jen's SFYTT this month, so I used that sketch.

I used some MME dp ( I bought two packs of this 6x6 pack and the first one is almost gone!), TCP's icing cutup and seam binding, and used Jen's trick for matting brads/rhinetsones. My orange brads were getting lost on the dp, so I punched out circles of chocolate CS and layered the brads over top. Now they really POP!
Here is a closeup of the colouring:

And the inside:

So that's it for me! Off to the beach for one last day in the sun:) I have a few cards that I'm working on, as well as a big project for TCP that I'll be blogging about real soon, so stay tuned!

Girl, I think your blog is still funny. Makes me laugh anyway! :) My middle monkey is off to Kindergarten next week. Makes me sad too. Love the card! Keep the inspiration coming.

LMBO! I even read it to my hubby and he laughed. Tell your hubby your blog is fabulous but, maybe you do need a vacation to get a little inspiration...

Okay now that is funny, your DH critiquing your blog! Love your blog girl and please enjoy your kiddos while they are young! Time passes by so quickly, mine are 16 and 24! Seems like yesterday that I was escorting them to the first day of school...Now my youngest would be mortified if I did that today but don't think that I haven't threatened to do it! LOL

Hugs,
