{KKS} the behinder I get.....

Hi there! I have been busy getting inky with my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps....working on samples for the next release, as well as playing with my stamps that unfortunately didn't arrive in time for last release.
I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan...movies, books, whatevs;)
So you can imagine the 'thud' heard when my jaw hit the floor after seeing Annie Rodrigue's Moonlight Whispers featuring the beloved characters from this classic! From Alice, the Red Queen and the Mad Hatter, to the White Rabbit, Dormouse and Cheshire Cat, these amazing illustrations in rubber form are collectors pieces in my mind!
I used my favorite, Alice, as she is falling down the rabbit hole! I love her hair, the mischevious expression on her face and the way she is holding down her billowy dress:)
Um, oh yeah- Alice and the rest of the Wonderland gang is on SALE right now!!! Thats right- newly released and on SALE..shut up!!

I know Alice is more of a white- blonde, but I wanted the contrast and ended up going a little darker than I intended!
MFT dizzy border and dizzy doily were used to add whimsy, as well as some SU crochet ribbon and some brown hemp twine. The little aqua button was in my stash. I machine stitched chocolate thread around the panels. The paper is old MME.

Here is the inside....the sentiment is totally me ;)

Hope you enjoyed my just for fun card:) Come back again soon!

{TCPTUES190) Good Friends

Hey there! It's been ages since my last post, but I have been so busy!! Trying to get last minute shopping done, parent helper at school, sick kiddo, a little baking (and I mean 'little'...Dominican is coming up fast and I need more calories like a hole in the head;), haircut, nails done, sorting and wrapping gifts...Oy! I have a few last minute gift tags that I made that I'll show you tomorrow as well! And then there is this card...my TCP challenge card for this week!!! I could NOT resist this amazing sketch by my girl Leigh! I am absolutely filing this one away for future projects...I am smitten with it! Check it out and see for yourself!
Fun, right? Here is my take, using one my old favorites Good Friends. I used a TON of Cutups (Circus panels, Circus border, Easy rosettes, Pennant, Big pinking border, Pinking border, Big scallop) and on the inside, the set Admit One and the Big Ticket Cutup. I threaded a big cranberry button with a double bow of Beige Linen Thread.

A little sakura glaze pen on their toesies and nosies;)

The flags were SO FUN to add in!!!

I couldn't decide what sentiment to use for the inside, so I used them all!!!

Remember to use the keyword TCPTUES190 when uploading to SCS- we wanna find you!! Or upload your card to Alma's blog!
I leave you with a few pics of my little ones decorating their gingerbread cookies!

{KKS109} Happy Day Tag

Hi there! I am so excited to show you this tag I made with one of the newly released Kraftin' Kimmie stamps! You might remember that last weekend was the big release, and poor me didn't get to participate due to the snail paced postal system:( I know- so sad that I didn't get my stamps in time...I was practically heartbroken, especially this being my first release as an 'official' Krafty Girl!
But believe you-me sisters, I am going to make up for it...umm..HELLO....Alice in Wonderland Moonlight Whispers!!! Could it get better than that. I doubt it. Well, maybe if I made a Mad Hatter card, sent it to Johnny Depp and he fell madly in love with me;)

But for todays Krafty Challenge: Tag It!, I decided to use one of Cheryl Alger's little cutie patooties from the amazing (and big) set Sugar and Spice!

I used paper from Authentique, a premade manilla tag (the large 3 1/8 x 6 1/4 size, trimmed to 6" length to accomidate the size of the 6x6 paper pad), TCP's seam binding in cranberry, a Webster's Sparkler and a SU! large eyelet. I coloured up the image with copics and paper-pieced the dress, ribbon and balloon, adding shading with my warm greys. Three tiny twinkles (TE) were added as buttons on the dress.
I had planned on adding some ribbon to the top of the tag, through the eyelet, but with the ribbon bow it ended up looking to busy, so I might have to add something in the future to attach this tag to a gift:)

I hope you'll check out the Kraftin' Kimmie blog to see what the rest of the team came up with! And play along with this week's challenge for your chance to win a new KK stamp!

{TCPTUES189} Dear Santa.....

This week our TCP Tuesday Challenge hostess is Susan, and she has put forth a stamp challenge: Use any Holiday themed stamp! You may remember this little cutie if you joined us at our last PJ Party release on SCS! I used this card for a little peek:) It features the new set Peeking.

I also used the new Cutups Gift Card Envie and Anywhere Ribbon Slide. A little TCP Linen Thread in Ivory, and two of our new colours of seam binding Evergreen and Cranberry.

Here is a picture with the little note to santa removed from the envie...It's just DP that I cut out and matted with brown CS!

Be sure to play along this week for your chance to win. Simply link up your projects to Alma's Dancing In Pajama's blog or upload to SCS using the keyword TCPTUES189!

{YNS} Challenge 57 & New Product Blog Hop!

Hi there! Today, Your Next Stamp is releasing some fun new stamps and dies! And we are having ourselves a Merry Little Blog Hop to celebrate and showcase the new goodies that Karen has in store:)
You should have arrived here from Maureen's blog...if you just stumbled upon my humble little blog and want to start at the beginning, as not to miss any of this crafty goodness, then head back to Kerri's blog.
Today is also a YNS challenge day! Jen d. is our hostess and she is wants us to make holiday/winter projects (YNSC57), so play along with us and link up your cards to the YNS Challenge blog for a chance to win!

I made a couple of little projects to show you today! The first uses the new (and fuh-lippin AMAZING little BIG set) Holiday Snow Globe set, which comes with tons of stamps- seriously, you won't be dissappointed in what Karen's packed into this set!!

Of course, I felt like I needed to make a real snowglobe with this set, so I did! Some acetate, foam tape, and chunky glitter and there you have it! I stamped and cut out the little snowman, colouring him and adding necessary bling to his winter-wear. Behind that clear window, he is popped up on dimensionals over the snowflake stamped and rhinestone decaled paper. I stamped the sentiment tag with various snowflakes that come with this set as well, stamped the phrase in black ink, then added more rhinestones (Yes, I did go a little apey with the bling-age today;) That little snowflake button is so sparkly and i tied it with a double linen thread bow. The layout is from this months SFYTT by YNS's very own Jen d!

For my next project, I used the new Criss Cross stamp and die (as well as characters from the Snowglobe set) to create some fun and easy little Christmas tags for my boys.

I stamped the criss cross stamp on Crumb Cake paper (formerly known as Kraft;) in various inks, then cut out with the steel die. There is supposed to be little nibs on the corners, but I cut them off. With tags I thought that they would likely get torn off anyway, in the excitement of digging around under the tree and opening:) I backed the tags with lightweight chipboard to give them some strength. I then stamped their names with an alphabet stamp (TCP). The little guys from the snowglobe set were coloured and blinged up as much as possible:)
A SU! jumbo eyelet was set through one end and satin ribbon (SU) threaded through and tied with a cherry bakers twine bow (the twinery).

Here is my chicken-scratch on the back. The Snowglobe set comes with ALOT of words, and the 'To:' and 'Love:' are some of them!

We are also giving away THREE prizes, just for commenting!! And the prize holders are top secret, so know one knows which hoppers will be chosen. The more blogs you comment on, the better your chance at being chosen! You have until Monday, Dec 12 (midnight EST) to leave your comments! Karen will announce the winners on December 13.
There are also some amazing specials going on at the YNS store, not to mention a special little giftie added if you place an order from now until the 25th! Merry Christmas to YOU!
Next up on the hop is Jen del Muro!

{TCPTUES188} Winter Birds

Hi there! Today is Tuesday, and you know what that means...time for another TCP Tuesday! This week Lori is our hostess and she has put forth a challenge indeed! A colour combo that had me dreaming of February and sweet valentines, but I am on a mission to finish some Christmas cards and actually GET THEM MAILED OUT!! Can you imagine, a cardmaker that doesn't get anyone their cards in time, if ever?? Well folks, that person is ME! (Step one: admitting you have a problem...that's as far as I've got;)
Here is the combo, if you want to play along! And you should! I'll tell you more about that later;)
Here is what I came up with, using Nesting and the sentiment from our newly released set, Merry Christmas, Honey.

I also cut a super sparkly snowflake (SU's glitter paper in silver in case you are wondering;) with the Snowflake Cutup Die. I topped that with an elegant metal button and glittery pink brad. The sentiment flag is hand cut and |I added some sponging to that, as well as the main circular panel using memento's London Fog grey ink. The birds were stamped with Cherry Cobler ink (SU) and the nest.branch in chocolate. I applied thin lines of Crystal Effects, tracing parts of the nest, then sprinkled a very conservative amount of glass glitter (also SU) to give the nest an icicle effect.

Alma just announced this months Swanky Stamper! Maybe next month it could be you! You have to play to win!! Link your card up to the Dancing In Pajamas blog or use the keyword TCPTUES188 if using SCS. We also offer weekly, random prizes too:) Good Luck!

{TSG133] Christmas Sweets

Hi there! Today at There She Goes, my coffee friend (although I just found out she drinks decaf, so we might have to start seeing other ppl;) and fellow trendsetter Melissa, is the hostess! She has given us this lovely picture to spark some inspiration;)
I know myself better than to get hooked on Pinterest (I think I have more than enough computer vices;), but I imagine that you can find alot of beautiful pictures on there that inspire! I'll have to ask Melissa if that's where she found this beauty....
This picture screams "WE HAVE NO KIDS, SO WE CAN HAVE NICE THINGS", but I decided to not make my card based on that first impression. Instead I took my inspiration from the colours (purple, brown , green and white), as well as all the sweets on the gorgeous dishes...Yum!!! My tummy was literally howling for chocolate when I was making this, but I was a good girl and showed restraint!!

I used Buckets Of Love (bucket and 'Sweetness') and BOL Holiday Additions (bucket fillers and 'May your holiday...' sentiment). These are really great sets to have and go together like PB&J, so you NEED both. There's no arguing and you may as well just go ahead and fill your boots. You'll be kicking yourself later if you don't;) Here is a close-up of the circles. I airbrushed the sentiment circle while still in the die and then stamped the sentiment. Everything was coloured with copics and I added stickles to the gingerbread men's icing bits. A big ol' bubbly white satin bow finishes it off (SU).  The layout is from an old Mojo sketch that I have used a few times!

If Melissa's photo has your creative juices flowing, then get busy and make something, then link it up to the TSG blog for your chance to win some TSG bucks! We'd love to have you play along this week! You can also see more projects made using the inspiration photo, by TSG Trendsetters!

{KKS107} Exciting News!

Hi there friends!!! I am soooooo excited about my post today! I am one of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps newest Krafty Girls!!!! I can hardly believe it! I have been in love with KKS images (Hi Annie Rodrigue. It's Jenny, your longtime stalker, reporting from the couch in my living room;) since I started this whole blogging  adventure!
At first I was just a 'collector' and lacked the cajones to colour up the beautiful and detailed images. Then one day I finally took the plunge! I credit my long time Krafty Girl idol, Michele, for inspiring me to get my KKStamps inky:):) And wouldn't you know it, she actually commented on that card!! Be still my heart;) Then came a few guest stints, which nearly caused me to have a coronary when I was picked! And now an official member of the team and my own fancy watermark (courtesy of the fabulous Krafty Girl Nicole!)!!!! Someone PINCH me!
So now that I've yapped your ear off, here is my very first 'official' Kraftin' Kimmie challenge card! Our hostess this week is Diana, and she is challenging us to use heat or dry embossing! I actually hate heat embossing (I think I've ranted about that before;), so I chose to dry emboss! It's one of my favorite techniques and does so much for a card. Card boring? Dry emboss. Voila! Embossing does for a card, what makeup does for a face!!

This is Noelle! Isn't she purdy?;) She looks like she couldn be Cindy-Lou Hoo's cousin or something, with that festive dress and candy canes in her hair! I coloured her with Copics, added tiny rhinestones to her dress buttons (TE). An open bracket border die (MFT), accented with larger rhinestones, was adhered along the bottom portion of the card. I anchored the sentiment flag with a SU seam binding bow topped with a button and brown hemp twine. My brand new Sizzix embossing folder was used for my dry embossing bit! The paper is lovely and it's by Little Yellow Bicycle...I think I need more of it too! Another 12x12 with small patterns, perfect for cardmaking!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and see the KKS blog for more inspiration and details on how you can play along and win some KKS stamps!!

{YNS} You Warm My Heart

Hey there! Just popping in to show you a sweet card that I made for a friend this week....it's going to be her Christmas card;)
I used the famous Ellie from Your Next Stamp! This kid gets around and she loves alot of things- which I think is great:) Shows she has a zest for living life;) She reminds of a non-annoying version of little Emily Yeung from Treehouse! lol! You Canadian moms are probably all too familiar with Treehouse Network and all their ear-grating shows...Remember Daniel Cook? Thank the Lord he finally grew up.  I don't know if I could stand putting another child through that;) There were more times than not, that I wanted to give him a swift kick in the arse;) Oh he was a sassy one! Probably made his parents rich though;)  Hahaha!!
Back on topic: The card!
I used Ellie Loves Hot Cocoa (who doesn't??)

I coloured her up with Copics (I wanted to give some really rosy cheeks from sitting out in the cold;) and I added some white dimples for fun:)
I cut a circle from an lacey circle nestie, left the cream CS in the die, and used my airbrush to 'colour' in the circle (E 42,43). I added some chocolate stitching and espresso ribbon (totally not the plan, but I royally screwed up and had a BAD sewing machine foul up under that strip of ribbon you see- it was supposed to go where the bow is), but, you do what you gotta do! So I put the ribbon on the top and left to bow on the bottom- hopefully it doesn't look to unbalanced;) I hotglued a MFT button tied with a SU linen thread double bow on the bow. Behind the bow, I hung a mini heart cookie cutter charm with linen thread.  The paper is my new FAVE! I just got it and it's by Pebbles I think...so far, I have only seen it in 12x12 sheets, but it's a small enough print that it's great for cards too! I think you'll be seeing alot more of it in the next few weeks!

Here is a close-up of Miss Ellie, sipping on her cocoa!

And the inside, that I finished but left loads of room for a personal message..This set comes with a sentiment, I just chose to leave it off this time.

Don't forget about the current YNS challenge: Die Cuts! You must use a YNS stamp/die to be elidgeable for the giveaway- and there are some sweet stamps for dirt cheap, so check out the store!See my post here on the YNS blog for more details! Our next challenge will be next Wednesday, where the DT has a BIG SURPRISE to reveal to you!!!

{TCP New Release} Blog Hop!

Hey there! Are you having fun 'hopping' so far?? This is probably my favorite release from The Cat's Pajamas (yep- I know I said the same thing last release, but this time I mean it!! ;)
Today we are combining our new release Hop with TCP Tuesday #187! Julie is our hostess (and first on the hop!), and she is challenging us to make our cards shine! Use glitter, glossy effects, stickles, rhinestones...whatever you can think of to make your project sparkle! You should have arrived here via Kimberly's blog! She was one of our wonderful Swanky Stamper's participating in this months release and boy, did she do a bang up job! Gave us all a run for our money, that's for sure! Thanks Kimberly and Steph for all your hard work!!
I used two new sets from this release on my card: Merry Christmas, Honey and J*lly H*liday!
They are available for purchase NOW!! And don't forget about Alma's special Christmas gift to you all- 15% off your entire order (and that's on top of the already discounted Kitty Kat Pack and Poochie Pack! WOW! Can you say 'generous'?? Just use the code word Happy15 at the checkout! And this offer is only good 'til the end of November, so you better get busy and shop! Tell your husbands that I said you could;)

This sucker is sooooo sparkly IRL! From the sequin trim (I am an 80's girl at heart;) to the glossy effects on the ornaments...from the J*lly H*liday set btw. I blinged out my tree with sparkly little gems and silver cording, added stickles to the star and spica glitter pen to Big Bears spoon and the honey....I LOVE sparkle and shine!!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Nancy Thomas! She has been busy whipping up so many gorgeous little gifts for her grandkids with this release, trying to keep their Christmas spirit alive as they enter that certain age! She sure has sparked my spirit with her 12 Days of Christmas gifts!
And don't forget to play along this week for your chance at some weekly cat-cash or even the opportunity to be crowned Swanky Stamper of the month and help us out with our next release, just like Kimberly and Steph! Upload your card to Alma's Dancing in Pajamas blog or SCS using the keyword TCPTUES187.

{TCP Release} Raising Cane

Hi there! Today the TCP Catpackers are giving you a sneak peek at another sweet set called Raising Cane. It features everyone's favorite bunny wabbit holding a pretty big candy cane! He's gonna have a tummy ache after eating all that sugar;)

I added some stickles to his paper-pieced hat and sprinkled glitter on top for sparkly good measure;)
My bunny was coloured with copics and cut with an oval nestie with the tips of the ears cut 'out of the box'.

Check out the fun new Holiday Divine Twine!!

I used the Anywhere Ribbon Slide Cutup die vertically and weaved two different colours (cream and rose) of TCP's seam binding through. Here is a little photo tutorial to show you how I did it.

Starting with your first colour (the one you want to see the most of) and weave strips through the larger sections, securing each bit at the back with score tape.

Next, weave your second colour through the remaining ribbon slots, keeping the ribbon in one long piece.

Secure at the end with more score tape and trim so no frays show through the front.
Flip the strip of CS over and you should have a nice, two-toned effect!

Alma's blog has a complete list of designers sneak-peeking today! And get in on out 'In It To Win It' thread on SCS for your chance to win Raising Cane.
