{SSSC116} Dino-mite Birthday

This is my version of a CAS (clean and simple) card. This is really NOT my style, so bear with me people! I tried to follow karen's SSSC for this one, but instead of the flourish, I broke the sentiment into 3 lines and stuck them individually in place. I also flipped the sketch on it's side.

Here is a detail shot of the Dino....I used spica pitch black glitter pen on his teeth, spikes and claws and coated his big googly eyeballs in Crystal Effects. He is coloured with copics, cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I wanted the lower white panel to look like a big ol' set of chompers, so I used TCP's large pinking die.

And here is the inside. I wanted the sentiment to look like it is in the mouth of a T-rex! Very simple, but something a little boy might appreciate:)

Supplies: Stamps- Unity (dino), MFT (sentiments- 'Little Loveosaurus'), Ink- memento, CS- SU!, DP- Creative Imaginations, Other- Copics, spica pen, Crystal Effects, dimensionals, corner rounder punch, TCP pinking die

Sunshine Lollipops & Rainbows

Not a super fitting title seeing as how I'm in a cranky mood tonight...lol..not sure why!? Nothing terrible happened to me. I actually had a decent day on the whole. I think it might be hormonal (TMI)...and I am feeling really sad that my hubby flies in on friday and I won't even see him until sunday night because I will be at a scrapbook/quilting retreat (which I am excited about...can you say 'sleep through the night'??) Somedays it's hard to raise 3 small ones mostly by myself. I try not to complain, because there are so many mothers out there that have it SOOOO much worse! My husband is not deployed and fighting a war in some awful place, he is alive and well, he is providing for his family, he is an amzing father and husband and is so hands-on and his favorite thing to do is spend time with our boys and do family things, etc, etc...but sometimes self pity gets the best of me and I have a few hours of 'poor, poor pitiful me' ringing in my ears;) Okay, I feel a little better now that I ranted!! haha! I hope there is someone out there reading all this jabber that I write daily...I don't get much for comments (*Hint Hint*) and it would be nice to know that I don't suck entirely....whoops, I'm on another rant! LOL- Better save some whining for tomorrow:)
Okay, on with my card! Obviously I didn't make this cheerful little number for you today (or it would have been black with a tornado plastered on the card front)..I actually made it yesterday afternoon. It was a really quick one for once! No intense colouring, die cutting, 4000 layers, bows with bad attitudes and a cantankerous sewing machine to deal with! A tiny bit of colouring, a few simple layers, easy peasy ribbon and some brads...not even teensy little button holes to thread on this button!!
The image is from Unity Stamps. I stamped it on the TE snowhite CS, coloured with copics, went over the candy jar lids and labels with a clear spica pen, covered the jars in CE glaze to make them look like glass, and went around the signs with diamond stickles. The ric rac die is MFT and i just ran the centre strip through the big shot again, repositioning it a bit to make it thinner.  The bottom stripe wavy strip is the negetive cuts from the ricrac die. The bakers twine that runs accross the ric rac strip is TE and the button is MFT. The square crystal brads are SU. The DP is My Minds Eye (I think?) and the CS base is SU, as well as the new Peach Parfait coloured ribbon (I love SU's new colours!!). The little tag and stamp to go with it are SU. I did decorate the inside, but for some reason forgot to photograph it?? Oh well, not gonna loose sleep over it (I'll loose sleep for other reasons (read: children))!
This is my take on this weeks MOJO sketch challenge:) Thanks for looking! And comment people! (see above complaints)...I'm not doing this blog for my health;) lol
See ya soon! Jenny

Oh, and I got a nice little package from Taylored Expressions yesterday, so tomorrow I'm going to play with some new stamps and embellies:) Stay tuned!!
