{SSSC191} Cream of the Crop

It's been awhile since I used some Your Next Stamp goodies, and I recently placed an order for some stamps and dies. I was excited to get this set, in particular, inky! I stamped the girl from Howdy, Farmer (which happens to be on SALE right now, along with a lot of other sets!!) in memento ink, and coloured her with copics. I used MFT's Circle Stax dies and Fishtail Flags and Layers dies. The sentiment was stamped in MFT's Black Licorice ink. I used OA's Farm Girl paper collection. Some machine stitching finishes it off!
I used this week's SSSC (191) for my card layout.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Oh My Gosh!! I am in love with these new bunnies! They are so stinkin' cute! This lil fella is so excited about the season....One of the sentiments that comes with this set was stamped on a flag tag and hangs under the bow (Ribbon Carousel). I actually used a baby DP pad when I made this Christmas card....don't be afraid to use paper that isn't specifically for a certain season. Mixing it up is a great way to make your card stand-out, as well as using up some supplies;)

Karen is also offering a fabulous Hop Special ~ 15% off your entire purchase including sale items!  The code is YNSNOV2012.  She also has some great bundle deals and some awesome steals in the YNS Bargain Bin!

{YNS Peeks} Day Two

Time for Day Two of Your Next Stamp's New Release Peeks!  I got to work with this fun little drummer boy (or girl;) Isn't he cute!?

I used some old Jillibean Soup paper and pink and red twine from the Ribbon Carousel, baby brads and bells from SU and larger silver brads (Michaels). A sentiment from Holiday Snow globe set was stamped onto the smallest die from the Bookmark Tag YNS die.
I glossed up his eyes, beak and flippers with crystal effects (SU) and paper-pierced the edges.

If you'd like to see a complete list of designers peeking today, then head over to the YNS BLOG!

{YNS Fun Friday} Bookmark for Ryan

Hello! This month's theme for YOUR NEXT STAMP's Fun Friday is GIFT GIVING! How fun! Making something handmade for someone special is always so fun and rewarding!  I have an avid little reader in my life, my 8 yr old son Ryan. He pretty much just started reading one day. No word of a lie. He came home from school one day and could read! He'd probably been in grade one for less than a month, and BAM! I was shocked! We read alot to him before bed, but he never tried to read along or sound out anything.....He reads completely by memorization and word recognition, not phonetically, like they teach in school. So yeah, I guess that's why he could 'all of the sudden' just read! And he's been non-stop ever since! He just pulled C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia off MY bookshelf, so we'll see how he does with that one- it's practically bigger than he is!

I used some fun stamps from YNS (Space Boy, Love To Read) as well as the Bookmark Tag die

I wanted to the astronaut to appear like he is coming right out of the pages of the book!

I used some MFT dies to cut out the letters for Ryan's name, just to personalize it. I am going to have it laminated to protect it! Some bakers twine finish it off.

{YNS} Hop For Hope Blog Hop!

Hello!  Welcome to the Your Next Stamp Hop for Hope Blog Hop!  We are releasing a very special set today in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  This set was created by YNS illustrator Fhiona Galloway, who is currently battling breast cancer herself.  We are dedicating our hop to this very special lady, along with all of the other amazing women who are fighting this difficult fight.  We have several special guests joining us so you won’t want to miss all of the gorgeous creations!
The Fight Like a Girl stamp set retails for $15.00 and Karen is donating $3.00 from each sale towards cancer research.  Are you ready to see what I made with this adorable stamp?

I coloured my bestie's with copics, paper-piecing the ribbon
(my DP is MME's Honey 6x6 pad). I used 4 different products from the Ribbon Carousel (Yellow V-Striped Twill, pink seam binding, and black jute twine.), and the button as well (Prima Wood buttons).

Next up on the hop is your final stop, YNS's head honcho, Karen herself! And don't forget to leave comments along the way...one happy hopper will win a $20 YNS Gift Certificate!

{YNS} Canadian Girl

Hey there! Today I have a few posts for you, so if this is not what you came here for, then keep scrolling;)
Today is Fun Friday at Your Next Stamp, and this months theme is Let It Snow....

I've used a fun winter image, Jenny From Canada (Yep- that's right....I've been immortalized in rubber;)...that just makes me happy!

I coloured her with copics and added some paper-piercing around the edge of the panel. MFT dies make up the snowflake/maple leaf embellie and the sentiment (MFT) was stamped on the Fishtail Flags layers STAX. I've used some Michaels brads, SU red satin ribbon and a spiral clip. The DP is Echo Park and CS is from SU.

Check out the YNS blog for more snowy projects from our Design Team!

{YNS} New Release Hop

Welcome to Your Next Stamps new release blog hop! We have tons of projects to show you today, as well as PRIZES! And everything is now available for purchase at the YNS store!

I have two fun, but very different cards to show you! One Christmas (aren't the new Christmas/Winter sets ADORBS! LOVE the new YNS artist:) and the other a SUPER (pun intended;) little guy...having three little super hero obsessed boys of my own, this set is going to be a well used one for me!!

I coloured him up with copics, and added spica (clear, gold and black) and stickles (yellow and lime green) as well as a little bit of glaze pen.
I stamped the sentiment (there are a few cute ones included in this set) onto a star from the Whimsy Star Layered die set. I added some more stars to balance it out.

Here is my Santa's List card! I love this set, because you can change up the sentiment that you put in the sign! This sentiment is my favourite: the 'want wish' cracks me up;)
I added some of my own list items (I was thinking of the kids here...although they want and iPad and my oldest, an industrial sized photocopier (don't ask). But the lego is always a sure thing! And I want a pony, so we'll see;)

See the new YNS dies? The trees are from a really neat set that has a variation of trees, for every season:) And the picket fence is awesome too! My ribbon and twine are from the Ribbon Carousel.

All of the new stamps and dies are available NOW in the

YNS Store PLUS Karen is offering a new release special

– 15% off your order using code YNSOCTNR!

Blog Hop Starts: October 9 at 3am (EST)
Blog Hop Ends:  October 14 12 midnight(EST)

Okay, now start hopping, and remember to leave comments along the way!  You might just be a lucky winner:)

{YNS Fun Friday} Blood Sucker

Did the title of my post make you look twice? Haha! Today I am one of the Your Next Stamp designers showing off some fun YNS Halloween stamps!
This little cutie caught my eye..I LOVE vampire stamps (especially the cutesy ones;). Meet Vampiee! He comes with the adorable barrel of Blood 'Suckers', as well as the swarm of bats!

I coloured up my sky with my Copics Air compressor, using a TCP cloud border die and a diecut circle for the moon. The bats were stamped and fussy cut, adhered to the sky and then coated in CE. The fence is a Tim Holtz die. Vampiee and the bucket were coloured with copics and CE was added here and there. They were cut out and popped up using SU dimensionals.
The ribbon is from The Ribbon Carousel (Violet and orange). The green CS is Bazzill Juicy Pear.

Now, why don't you check out the other designers Halloween themed cards at the YNS blog, and if you're lucky they might even show you some tips on how they store stamps and dies:) I could use some advice, as my stamp room looks like a bomb went off in there! I need to learn how to be more organized! lol

{YNS Fun Friday} Thankful...

Time for another Fun Friday post! This month, the designers at Your Next Stamp are going to be focusing on Halloween and Fall.....so exciting, as Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday!! We are also going to sharing tips throughout the month on die and stamp storage.

For my card, I've used the larger pumpkin from the set Autumn Harvest. The sentiment ('Thankful' from the set Life is Great) was stamped on the smallest tag/bookmark die from the new Bookmark Layered Die.

I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday. MFT dies were used to make the orange pumpkin blossoms and green vines.....the scallop die along the bottom is by MFT as well. Spellbinders circle and scallop circle dies cut and matted the image.

Check out more Halloween projects and storage tips (I'll have some pics for you next time;) the other designers have for you at the YNS blog:)

{YNS New Release Blog Hop} Lil' Buckaroo

Hello and welcome to theYour Next StampSeptember New Release Blog Hop!!! We know you are just going to LOVE all the new stamps and dies and they are available NOW in the YNS Store! The hop will run from today, until Monday, September 10th at midnight (EST).
What’s a hop without prizes?! We have 3 New Release Prize Packages hidden throughout the hop, so make sure you leave comments for your chance to win! Winners will be announced on the Your Next Stamp Blog on Tuesday, September 11th.

I made this sweet frame for my son Jake's bedroom. The picture is of him a few summers ago, picking out his 'rodeo stock' for the sheep riding event! lol! I used the new World Kid, Nathan from USA. The frame  is a cheapy from Michaels, and I simply adhered DP (October Afternoon's Sasparilla) to the whole frame, flipped it over and used my craft knife to cut out the centre portion, and inked the edges. I added a little border between the two DP's using the new Your Next Die Stars (I used the smallest of the stack), topped with jumbo silver brads, and attached with dimesional dots.

The lasso was made with some rope from my stash, and I cut the words using my Cricut and Old West cartridge. Nathan was coloured with copics, and glaze was added to his eyes, belt buckle, sherriff's star and horseshoe.

{YNS/iSSC28} Oh Wise One

Today I have a fun card to show you using a brand new image from Your Next Stamp, Grad Owl. This months YNS Fun Friday theme is Celebrations (you may remember that last months was Christmas/Winter). You can see more inspiration from the YNS DT girls on the BLOG.

I used this weeks sketch from iSpy Sketches for my layout....
this week the iSSC team was inspired by Mary Brown (stampercamper @ SCS). You can see Mary's original card HERE. The other Secret Agents have come up with beautiful cards, you can check them out on the blog HERE.

I actually used the owl in place of the bow on the sketch- feel free to mix things up and make it your own! That's what makes sketches so fun....they give you a great kicking off point, but you can also put your own individual spin on it:)

I used some of my fave brown jute twine from the Ribbon Carousel for the button threaded bow and for his cap tassels.

Okay- thats it for me:) Thanks for stopping by!

I've made a little matching set, one for boy and one for girl! {iSSC26} iSpy Another Christmas Card....

Time for another iSpy Sketch Challenge and I am combining today's sketch with YNS's Fun Friday Christmas themed card.
This week the Secret Agents were inspired by Therese Calvird (you can see her card HERE). Here is the sketch:

I used Criss Cross border stamp and matching die cut. I embossed the criss cross stamp with versamark and lime green Zing powder on black CS and cut it out with the die, adding red die cuts (cut in half and glued to the edges) for some pop. I embossed the sentiment from Light Up The Holidays, omitting the little lights on the bottom. The ribbon is SU satin red. CS colours used were black, kiwi kiss and real red.
And guess what? Criss Cross Stamp and Die set is on sale right now for 40% off!!! How awesome is that?

We'd love to have you join us this week at iSpy! Thanks for visiting:)

{iSSC25} Christmas in July

Hey there! I am not much for making Christmas cards or thinking of anything related to snow, wind, -40* celsius temperatures, long johns, insulated coveralls, winter boots, frozen water pipes, shovelling snow and taking 20 minutes to get the kids out the door to play just to have them come in 10 minutes later due to the freezing cold. I guess that probably has something to do with living in a province that has winter over half of the year! I treasure our summer months (all two of them;) Hahaha!!!

However, I am not one to rock the boat (well, most of the time) and this month we are starting something new for Your Next Stamp's Fun Fridays. Karen has decided to have a new theme each month, where all of the designers posting, stick with the same theme all month long! And I like that idea, so Christmas, here I come;)

I combined my card with this week's iSpy Sketch Challenge, thinking I had the PERFECT idea. That is until I was photographing my card and thought to myself "Hmmmm.....I think I am missing a reindeer" I then went through the song out loud. You know the one....Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. Oh yeah- and Ruldolph (the most famous reindeer of all). Ah CRAP! One reindeer too many. I was joking with my iSSC team that poor Donner went lame and had to be euthanized. Probably stuck his hoof in a gopher hole when delivering presents to Saskatchewan. It's a tragedy, I know. But now I have the right amount of spots for my card;)

The Secret Agents were inspired by THIS card by Elzbieta (crazysexycool @ SCS). Here is the sketch for you to play along:

I used the reindeer and Santa from the set Holiday Snow Globe, coloured them all up with copics and added spica and clear gel pen here and there. They were cut using a spellbinders square and they were popped up on foam dimensionals. The card measures 6x6.

Be sure to check out the YNS blog for links to more Christmas-y Creations! And find us at our SCS forum too!!! There is a fun challenge on at YNS right now, and you could play to WIN!

{iSSC23} YNS New Release Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Your Next Stamp July New Release Blog Hop!
We are so excited about our hop this month, because we are introducing a new artist to the YNS family-Ann Ellis! We just know you are going to love her fun, contemporary style!
We also have a few new Ellie stamps and a new Fhiona too! Plus some fabulous new dies that coordinate with some existing YNS stamps – Window Play and a selection of dies that go with the popular Mini Fhiona stamps!
All the new stamps and dies are available to purchase today in the YNS Store!
You should have arrived here from Diana's Blog, but if you're lost and want to start at the beginning, hop on over to Veronica’s Amazing Blog! ...

I used one of Ann's new stamps and embossed the butterfly with Zing and SU powders. The pom pom trim and net ribbon are from the Ribbon Carousel. Some SU rhinestones were added for the blingy factor;)

I used this week's iSSC for my layout. You can see all the details on that sketch, and the artist we were inspired by HERE, along with more DT inspiration!

Alright, up next on our hop is our fearless leader, Karen! And don't forget to leave some love at every stop- there are FOUR secret prizes hidden along the way!! You have until Tuesday, July 10th at 11:59PM EST to leave your comments.

{YNS Peek} Day Two

Time for another release from Your Next Stamp! Today's card features our resident sweetheart Ellie, and this time she is out for a run!

Running Ellie was coloured with copics and bits of shimmer and gloss were added using spica glitter and sakura glaze pens. The background panel was cut with a spellbinders label die and embossed with a CB folder. Ellie is popped up on dimensionals.
The sentiment flag was anchored with a Stampin' Up clip.

I paper-pleated a little running path for Ellie, using some neat patterned paper (you can find a tutorial on paper-pleating by our friend Amy Rohl, HERE on SCS). It is really easy and fun and adds alot of dimension to your project!
I wrapped some cherry bakers twine around the pleated strip and tied it off on a bright green button.

Check out the YNS blog for links to more designers previewing today!
