Happy hoppin'!

I made two cards for today's previews. The first uses one of my favourites from Cheryl's stamps this month. I LOVE Lexi with the birds all perched on her arms and head!!! She's from the set You're so Cool. I added some MFT dies for the sentiment tab and snowflake. The scalloped border is an old relic from my stash ;) I added some white ribbon and red jute twine. I also added some rock candy glitter here and there. Lovin' that stuff lately!

For my second card, I've used Lucas playing hockey from the set Have an Ice Day. My Nephew's birthday was yesterday and he starts skating lessons soon. I'm sure my brother will have him obsessed with hockey in no time! He already has his little Edmonton Oilers jersey! So I made his birthday card in team colours of orange, white and blue!

I coloured with copics, spica glitter pen, and glossy effects. I added rock candy glitter to the ice. I found the cutest little vintage ice skates from Tim Holtz. I dangled them off the hemp cord button embellie. The sentiment that I used actually reads 'Skating by with a Winter Hi!', but I did some masking and subbed in the 'birthday' from the set Kimmie's Mermaid Sentiments to make this into more of a birthday-ish card :) I swiped a blue copic over Birthday to highlight it and make the different font less noticeable.

I finished the inside of this one, using another sentiment that comes with the set.

{TI} Mummy Loves You!

This week we have a new challenge at Tiddly Inks. It's called Creepy Cute and I thought Be My Mummy would be the perfect digi to use!

I coloured him with copics (easy peasy!), did some sponging, sewing, and added some enamel dots. The sentiment is from TSG and I stamped it on an MFT die cut with black licorice ink (MFT). I made a cute little embellie using torn twill ribbon (SU!), a Prima wood heart button and MFT hemp cord. The DP is by We R Memory Keepers.
I used The Deconstructed Sketch #121 for my card layout.

{TSG228} A Toadally Awesome Challenge!

This week our challenge is brought to us by ME! I am challenging YOU to make a card or project using the colours pumpkin, aqua, and chocolate!!

I've used one of Melyssa's lovely mini sets, Toadally Awesome for my card this week. She is coloured with copics, adding pastel pencils for some more death. I added white paint pen to her and Toad's cheeks, as well as giving her a little extra sparkle in her eyes. I broke the sentiment into two strips and used MFT Fishtail Flags to cut them out. Chocolate jute twine and brads finish it off.

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using this week’s challenge and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (October 14th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG228 so we can check out your beautiful work!

{MFT} Ahoy!

Yesterday was World Cardmaking Day and I wanted to sit down and whip up a quick card, because, well, it was a good excuse! If you can't justify setting aside some crafty time on WCD, then when can you? lol

I recently got an order from My Favorite Things, and I was kind of itching to use this little PI Pirate Boy (I love anything for lil boys!), and PI's are so darned quick and easy to colour up. It seemed like a good match ;)

For an even quicker card, paper-piecing can be a great option! I always add a wee bit of shading (usually with W1 and 3 markers) so it has some dimension still. A real pirate would probably be forced to walk the plank with this outfit, but I think a little boy pirate can get away with it just fine! I showed my lil scallywag this card and he said 'nice, but he's holding the sword the wrong way'....geesh, there is just no pleasing some people! haha! I used Western Backgrounds to stamp on the Chalkboard Frame Border diecuts in Kraft ink. I hand tore the border and added a Steel Blue button tied with Hemp cord. I added a few brads, as it wasn't feeling quite done.

I used this weeks WSC #144 for this layout.

{KKS199} Spooky Sweet

Hey there! Time for another Krafty Challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! This week I am your hostess! I am a Halloween fuh-reak!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!! Everything about it. I take it pretty serious. I plan my costume, decorate the house, make treats, carve a billion pumpkins, have a big party....the works! It's a pretty big deal around here! Halloween papers and stamps are some of my very favourite, so it should be no surprise that my challenge is to create something Spooky Sweet!!! Bust out those halloween stamps (thankfully KKS has a whole lot of these!!) and get your spook on!

I used Witchypoo to make my card! I love this stamp- and to think I didn't own it up until a month ago!!! Kim loves me more than all of the other Krafty Girls, so she tucked it in my package! Aren't I lucky!

I used an old MME pad from last season (or the one before?), but I just love the colours- the aqua colour really is unexpected! Love this collection. I was inspired by one of my fellow teamies, Cheryl, to colour my witch up with a non-traditional colour scheme!
I added a button (OA), hemp cord (MFT) and some new enamel dots, which I am in LOVE with!). Border die is MFT (Blueprints 6). I applied glossy accents to her skulls and black machine stitching and distress ink.

This is a big weekend over at KKS with some fun challenges and PRIZES for World Cardmaking Day, as well as a Birthday going on! Check out the blog HERE and the Facebook Page HERE for all of the deets, as well as some inspiration from the other girls!
