Today is Day 12 of YNS's 14 Days of Holiday Fun! I am showcasing my favorite set of this release, Light Me Up.
I think this little guy is so darned cute:) He reminds me of my little monkeys, all tangled up in everything they can get into!
I also used the Light Up The Holidays die, using different CS's and DP's and wrapping the top of the bulbs in linen thread for a vintage look. The boys hat and mittens were paper-pieced and the rest of him was coloured with copics. I cut a little felt pom-pom for his toque and glued it on. To keep the vintage, kitschy look going, I used 3 different button/brad elements along the bottom of the old fashioned newsprint paper. TCP's apron cutup die adds a little somethin' somethin' to the bottom portion of the card.
Here you can see my cute lil man all popped up on dimensionals, as well as the light string.
Head over to the YNS blog for links to more designer peeks, as well as deets on a great little special;)

TSG128- Au Naturale
Hey friends! This weeks challenge at There She Goes is brought to you by ME! I just so happen to be the Trendsetter of the Week, and my challenge is to go Au Naturale, and use something 'natural' on your card, whether it be twine, jute, burlap, wood, hemp, etc...fun right? I think so;)
I made my three little boys a Halloween card from their 'mummy', using stamps and sentiments from the AMAZING set Hauntingly Delightful (which I let my middle, Halloween-loving son, Jake pick out;) Since I make alot of projects centered around my kids, I thought it would be fun to occasionally let them pick what I buy (within reason of course;)
Anyway, I am so glad let him choose, as this set is one of my favorites! Keep your eyes pealed in the coming days for a CUH-UTE project that I will be showing you, also featuring this fun set!
Onto my card....
I stamped the mummies in all three sizes, to match my kids, and coloured them in with copics, adding a bit of colour around their eyeballs, in the same hues of my kids eyes (oldest and youngest in blue, and middle in brown). As you can see, I used burlap behind my main panel, brown and natural hemp twine, linen thread and wood buttons as my Au Naturale elements! The sentiment flag was free-cut and distressed and I anchored it with another stamp from this set. I cut a black spiderweb border die (TSG!) to add to the spooky-sweet feel;) The edges of the main stamped panel were sponged in creamy brown and charcoal chalk ink, and the dp pieces were sponged only in charcoal.
A close-up of the little monsters and neat wood buttons:)
And ain't this the truth!! They do make me batty, but I love 'em to bits;) And there's that fabulous spider web die again, and just a smidge more linen thread!
I sure hope that you\ll play along with my first trendsetting challenge! Remember that you don't even have to use a TSG stamp (although we love to see some TSG;) to be elidgeable for the prize! All you have to do is link up your creation to the TSG blog. And if you are looking for more inspiration, see what the other Trendsetters have come up with for my challenge! And stop by for the next few days for more from my spotlight week;)

YNS Release- Day 11!
Today, Your Next Stamp is releasing some fun, wintertime forest friends! I was able to work with Sleeping Bear to make this card.
I used some gorgeous blues from Authentique for my dp, did some dry embossing with a houndstooth EF, added some black zigzag stitching and silver brads. The big black satin bow is SU ribbon, and I coloured my bear with warm grey copics and cut him out with a circle nestie. Under the sentiment panel (TCP's new circus panel cutups) there is actually little 'Z's, but I had to cover them up fit everything on the cardfront:)

YNS- Canadian Kids Release
Hi there! I am so excited for the Your Next Stamp preview today!! Can you guess why? That's right, it's the debut of the Canadian Kids!!
These World Kids are just the cutest series and of course, the Canadians are my favorite;)
We have a little hockey boy and girl, named Darius (after DT Peggy's son) and....drum roll please......Jenny!! That's right! Named after me! I grew up with brothers and our weekends were always spent at Arena's all over Alberta...Being the product of a pretty hockey crazy province and growing up in a hockey family, Karen thought it would be fun to name her after me! I am so excited:):) Thanks Karen!
I made a card today featuring Darius:
I stamped his stick/gloves separately and the wrapped some linen thread (TCP) around the blade, and then popped the whole thing up on dimensionals. The embellies are all SU (buttons, ribbon) and I tied the buttons with TCP's divine twine in airmail. The green piece of dp was cut with a pinking die (TCP). I stitched around the stamped panel with red thread to give it some punch. Silver brads in the corners finish it off.

TSG Release- No Peeking!
I went completely against my grain, and made a very CAS one layer card!! I know!! Eek!Kids love to countdown the days until Christmas is finally here and with this new set illustrated by Torico, you are going to have just as much fun creating a countdown advent calendar! With 25 different adorable holiday images and two sets of numbers the possibilities are endless! To make this set even more useable, there are two decorative circles and two decorative squares that were designed to be used with a 1 3/8” punch!!
But I do like the way that it turned out and boy was it quick to make;) And I did use my 1 3/8" punch and it worked perfectly! I layered it over a slightly larger nestie circle to add some definition. A little stickles makes all the images sparkle.....The sentiment was stamped right on the main layer and I added bakers twine in complimentary colours.
This set had literally endless possibilities and I am so excited to try out all of my ideas for Christmas!
No Peeking! is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 53 stamps and will sell for $24.

TSG Release- Bon Appetit!
We have another fabulous set from Torico – she’s showing off her range of creativity. Whip us some delicious greetings with the new Bon Appetit set. From the succulent turkey to steamin’ hot pie create some mouthwatering table settings and pass down secret family recipes for generations to come. Compliments of Chef Torico!Bon Appétit is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 31 stamps and will sell for $18.
I used alot of the food images and stacked them all up! The cupcakes actually come stacked in tiers, but are not overlapping, so they are easy to trim appart without losing any of the image! Everything was coloured with copics and clear spica glitter pen was added to the food (plates, icing) and a tiny little red rhinestone was added to the very top cupcake! Alot of brads were added, inspired by all the steel pots and pans you would find in a kitchen. The little sign is also held up with a metal clip (thanks Windy!;)...I wanted it to look like a menu sign you might find in a little bistro. A bit of red straight stitiching finishes it off:)
Here is a close-up of the chef and his creations:

YNSC54- ABC and a new release
Hi there- Your Next Stamp challenge 54 is an ABC challenge. If you're not familiar with what that is, it's Anything But a Card! And oh boy, am I a risk taker....I made a tag!!! LOL! I did attempt a cute little treat box, but that fell through, so I went with a good old tag;)
I used the brand new Rockin' Christmas Tree (just released at the YNS store!). Mostly everything else is Stampin' Up, besides the stickles, pearls and of course copics.

YNS Release!
Holy cow! Are you loving YNS's 14 Days of Holiday Fun!! This is one of my fave releases, so hang on to your hats for what's coming up in the next little while;)
Today we are on day five, and I have a couple of cards to show you. The first features one of my most beloved Christmas icons, the three Wisemen. I love anything wisemen. A funny little story for ya- once, right before Christmas a few years ago, my mom and I were shopping downtown. We didn't have the kids with us, so we were going into all the 'nice' stores (read: anything other than Walmart;), going on about how nice it was to be able to browse without worrying about the kids breaking anything. All of the sudden...CRASH- there goes baby Jesus onto the floor, head rolling across the floor! -35* celcius makes for shopping in a huge winter coat, of which mine took out a Nativity scene, causing the decapitation of non other than the star of the show, JC. And guess what??? The clerk, in her Christian kindness, made me pay for the whole set!! She did give me the after-Christmas price, but poor Baby Jesus has his head stuck on with scotch tape ever since! Yes, I am a procrastinator and have never crazy glued the head back on. Now, some would take that little incident to be a bad omen, but I am not the type. I just think it makes for a funny story! My mom says that the look on my face was priceless (I disagree and think it was worth exactly $70).....
For my second card, I used the adorable Ellie Loves to Ski, and made my very first easel card, plus it's a shaker!
I love the way this turned out and I think I'll be making more of this style of card in the future. I absolutely love this card, as I used to be very into skiing, so this set is sentimental for me (actually it's really making me want to go skiing asap;)
Okay peeps, grab a coffee and settle in, because this is a LONG post!! I wanted to show you alot of pics of the easel card....and sorry if the lighting is poor. I took these in the evening under the Ott light.
Sentiment is from another company as well (TCP), but I thought it was fitting for the card;)
And here is a sideview of the card. I used a snowflake print acetate so that the shaker oval of the cardfront wouldn't be backed with a solid CS and you are still able to see the chunky glitter (snow).
Some little Holiday Skittles (YNS) add interest and help to brace the cardfront up.
Here is a view of it open, so you can see the portion to write the message on.
Check out the YNS Blog for more designers previewing, and remember that the stamps are available to purchase the day that they are shown! And there is a wee little bit of a deal going on...you might want in on that as well;) *hint hint*

Kraftin' Kimmie Release Day!
Yay- today is the day that KKS are available for you to purchase! Hopefully the DT and myself have provided some inspiration this past few days, and your creative juicing are flowing like a burst dam!
Today is also Hop Day, where the designers are showcasing an image of our choosing to dazzle you with! I just think this Moonlight Whisper, Missy, is so much fun! She looks like she has a spunky personality and I've got to give her props for embracing those big thighs and dawning spandex shorts!
All of the new products are now available at the KKS store, so after you are finished hopping, get over there and start shopping!!

I really wanted this card to have a fun feel, and the fuschia and zebra print ribbon was demanding to be included! I used my copic multiliner to draw in some zebra stripes on this old skool workout outfit;) I went ahead and threw a pink streak in her hair (she seems like the type for something like that)....some pink pearls, wonky black stitching and silver CS help seal this sassy deal!
Next up on the hop is Peggy! For links to all the hoppers today, or to start at the top o the hop, check out the Krafty Blog:)

I used the sultry, snow-shovelling seductress, Eva on my card today.
Oh, can you just picture me shoveling snow in the frigid Alberta winter wearing this very same aqua snowsuit with my hair perfectly coifed around my fuzzy pink earwarmers? Not to mention the come-hither eyes;) tee hee!
I added some tiny twinkles to the snowflake centers, and punched some snowdrifts embossed with a snowflake EF. She was cutout and popped up on dimensionals.
And here is the inside, using the sentiment included in this set (Lovin' that font):
I dotted the 'i's with tiny crystals:)

Kraftin' Kimmie Previews- Emilie's Images
Hello again! Today the designers for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps are previewing some soon to be released stamps by the artist Emilie Goulet. Emilie's animated images are so fun, with their trademark rosy cheeks! The little guy, Making Friends, just stole my heart! He reminds me of Sid the Sloth from the movie Ice Age:) I went with a simpler layout and design than my typical 'junk-it-up' style, as I really wanted this card to be masculine and most dudes don't dig the ribbon and gems;) Not any in my neck of the woods, anyway!
I used a sentiment from Nativity Sentiments and chopped it up before adhering to the card front with dimensionals.
And here is a close-up of little Sid;)
See you back here tomorrow with a Krafty Challenge and the Moonlight Whispers preview!! You don't want to miss it! And be sure to stop by the Krafty Blog to see a list of designers previewing today!
