{SPD} CuPcAkEs!

Hey there! I have a 'sweet' card (get it?!) to show you today, featuring some great new dies from SugarPea Designs!

I used the coffee cup and whipped topping dies from Coffee To Go Cup SugarCuts to create these cute lil cupcakes! I had this idea during release week, and finally got the chance to use it! This could also pass for an ice cream sundae!

For the inside of the card, I added a sentiment from the set Tons of Fun, and stamped that onto a Zig Zag Stitched Circle die.

I used the current sketch challenge (SPDSS38)on this weeks card. You can find that link up HERE on the SPD Blog.

{SPD} A Frightfully Sweet Sketch!

Are you ready for a new SugarSketch Challenge?!?!  It’s a fun one!  Feel free to make it your own by rotating or by changing the shapes of the panels. And remember, that each project you link up and share below is an entry to WIN a Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs store worth up to $15!

I played along this week using the adorable lil Casper look-a-like from the set Eek-A-Boo. I also added in some spiderweb stamps from the same set. The aqua DP behind the star panel was cut using the Heart Journal Card SugarCuts and the star panel is Scattered Stars Journal Card. I cut a circle out of the journal card using a circle die, and tucked a button in. I pieced the bowtie and banner. The rest was coloured with Copics. I added the sentiment on a vellum flag from the Gift Tag SugarCuts. I saved the lil black star cut outs from the scattered star panel and adhered them on the base panel like sequins.  Button and twine are MFT. I really like the way this came out and of course this is my all time favourite Halloween pad. My heart will be broken when it runs out! I save it for my very favourite images :)

The rules are very simple…
  • Create a new card or project using the SugarSketch provided.  SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)

{SPD} Life's A Beach

We've got a new sketch challenge this week at SugarPea Designs!

I've used the set Seaside Wishes on my card today. I stamped in a light ink and coloured with copics. This is technically not the 'no-lines' technique, as you can still see the caramel coloured memento ink that I used. Typically I'll stamp off the image once and use the second stamped image, but this time I just used full strength ink, hehe! I added some glossy accents and loose glitter to mimic sand and the shine off wet seashells....

{SPD} Let her sleep...

I've used the SugarCut-Welcome Baby Accents baby onsie die to make this sweet card! I also cut the focal panel designer paper using the Heart Journal Card die. I added some cream lace, natural twine and machine stitching. I tied a mini button around the waist of the onsie for a little girly detail ;) The Echo Park DP and enamel dots can be found HERE.

You can head over to the SPD Blog to find all the details on how YOU can play along with us for a chance to win!

And be sure to take advantage of our summer sale!! Now's a great time to shop if you've been building up your wishlist!

{SPD} #craycray

This week we have a brand new sketch from SugarPea Designs!

OMG. Might I remind myself, yet again, my dislike for heat embossing. But it does add a nice touch, so here we are! LOL. I did heat emboss the cell phone, glasses, lips and pipe. All of those stamps are from the new set Hashtag Hipster. I added in some die cuts from the Gift Tag SugarCuts. I added some little gems to the cat eye glasses and on the phone button.

{SPD} SMILE!

I used SugarCuts- Polaroid Journal
Card for my card today and NO
stamping!! Can you believe it?!?!
But that is just how awesome this
die is! It can be a companion die
for a few of our sets , or it can be used as a stand out die all by itself and still make a bigstatement! I used some silver cross-hatched CS for the camera details, as well as the 'smile' word die. I think this card is really bright and fun and just puts me in the mood for summer to come!!

{SPD} You're a Gem!

Time for another sketch challenge from SugarPea Designs! I used one of my fave stamps sets, Go-pher It! (even though it IS a Gopher, which is the natural enemy of a farm raised kid LOL)…I used a cool Pink Paislee pad with gems on it and coloured up my guy's treasures to match :) I added glossy accents and glitter to the gems, as well as the hard hat and pick-axe and rocks. I added on some adhesive gems and enamel dots as well. Circle and flag dies are MFT.

{SPD} Distressed Love Note

Are you ready for a new SugarSketch Challenge?!?!  We had a fantastic response to our last SugarSketch Challenge.  It was wonderful to have so many participants.   Feel free to make it your own by rotating or by changing the shapes of the panels.  And remember, that each project you link up and share below is an entry to WIN a Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs store worth up to $15!

I've noticed a lot of stampers using Distress Ink to create gorgeous backgrounds lately, so I tried my hand at that. I don't have many 'colours'…mostly just neutral browns to distress with….so my colour scheme was very limited LOL! I sponged a background, then cut out the circle (I used the extra inked portions once i cut out my circle focal panel to cut all of the little hearts (Heart Journal Card Set) that you see floating out of the envelope die- Special Delivery Accents). I spattered the circle with water off a paintbrush to get the look. I need to work on this. haha! I added a bunch of enamel dots (mostly YNS), lacquered up the 'love' die cut (Heart Journal Card Set) with glossy accents and stamped 'note' from the set Special Delivery. I used the envelope stamps from Special Delivery to create the pattern on the vertical panel. I saw one of my teammates do something similar and was inspired by that. The horizontal panel was subbed with one of the border stamps from Build A Background- Basics (Remember that BAB-Basics is FREE with a qualifying purchase!!!You can get your hands on it a whole 2 months before its even released!)
