Ryan's Treat Bags

Hey there! Just a little look into what I worked on today! Ryan is in Grade 3 this year, and his class is going to be trick or treating in the classroom tomorrow during their Halloween party, so we have to send in goodie bags for all the kids in his class. I loved these little treat bag kits that Stampin' Up! has available in their holiday catalogue, so I bought three! Glad that I got to use them, as they weren't quite big enough for the popcorn balls I am handing out tomorrow to the little goblins that will be coming to our door! I love living out in the country, because we only get about 15-20 kids each year, so I can get a little bit more generous than we used to have to be in town when we'd get 50+ kids!

I stamped the little mummy and bat from the coordinating set in versamark onyx black ink and added the 'from: Ryan' with a copic multiliner. Aren't the googlie eyes hilarious!

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!!!

{TSG179} Little Moments

Today I have another challenge for There She GoesThis week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Kelly!  She has challenged us to make a card or project inspired by the colors of her favorite drink: Pumpkin Spice Coffee! (Mmmm- one of my favorites too!!) She has a beautiful inspiration photo for us to get our creative juices flowing!

I used Little Moments and created a scene with drawn in floorboards, baseboard, wallpaper and a little picture frame hanging from a nail (baby brad;)! I mostly coloured with copics, paper-piecing leg warmers and pants. The texture on the armchair was created with my 0 colourless blender. Does it look like microsuede? lol!

I used some fabby lime vintage seam binding from the Ribbon Carousel, as well as brown jute twine. The button is BasicGrey and baby brad from Michaels. The dp is We R Memory keepers and SU CS. I used a MFT border die as well.

Check out the TSG blog for more inspiration from the team, as well as details on how you can play with us this week!

I used the newly released set NINJA SKILLZ and dug around my scrap bin! This is a great sketch for those little skinny pieces you have lying around:) I cut the DP with MFT's Fishtail Flags. CS is Stampin' Up!, and brads are from Michaels....I coloured up this ninja with copics and cut him and the black circle with spellbinder nesties.
Ribbon is from the Ribbon Carousel (5/8 parrot green cotton twill).

Welcome to the Kraftin' Kimmie new release HOP! All of our new stamps are available RIGHT NOW for purchase in the KKS store! We have Annie's Dancing Queens, Emilie's Babies, Cheryl's Winter Fun Lexi and Lucas, and some new Winter Trinkets....as well as a surprise Annie stamp!!

For my card tonight, I've used the sledding kids from the Lexi set and Lucas set and made a little scene!

I did alot of embossing, adding stickles to the snowflakes in the sky, some holly embossing on the green tree (PTI die) and decorated the corrugated tree with jute twine (Ribbon Carousel) and i-Rock gems. I stamped the sentiment (from the Lucas set) onto a speech balloon (MFT die). The paper is Jillibean Soup (Winter Tortellini) and Stampin' Up CS.

Here is a little closeup of these cuties! They were coloured with copics and Lexi has stickles on her toque pompom, cuffs and hair flower. They were fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals....

Remember to leave some comments along the way, and you might just be a winner of a KKS prize package.....

Meet Disco Donna! Isn't she groovy! And that hair? solo much fun to colour!

See the spica glitter in her scarf and boots and the silver stickles on her earrings and chain belt?!

Here is our sketch!

I wanted to give you all a little tip on how I made the curved sentiment. You've probably heard people talk about being able to bend clear polymer stamps to get those nice, curved sentiments. Well, with some modifications to your rubber stamps, you can do it too!
Simply snip the edges of the sentiment (you have to do this or it will spring back into shape right away!). Here's a pic so you know what I mean:

Just snip so that the bottom and top snips are staggered (your stamp will go right back to normal when you take it off the block- so don't worry, you aren't wrecking anything!). I then cut out a piece of scrap paper with the same die that I used to cut my image. Since these are rubber, you can't see through them, so I recommend doing this to get the best idea of how your image will looked once stamped. As you can see, I didn't like the top one (thought it was to curved and didn't follow the oval properly) so I readjusted and stamped again on the other side. Perfect! Ready to stamp on the image oval!

Below you will find all the Krafty Girls and Guests who have goodies to show you today and while you're visiting their blogs, be sure to leave some love at each stop because TWO lucky ladies are each going to WIN a package of today's stamps!! Woohoo!!!

ALL of our OCTOBER stamps will be available TOMORROW at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!!! So be sure to come on back to enjoy our Release Day Krafty HOP!!

Oh and P.S. There will be a SPECIAL stamp that you haven't seen yet, being released tomorrow as well, so be sure to check out tomorrow's Krafty Hop to see if you can find it!!!

Happy hoppin'!!

Today at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps we are sharing a new set by the totally talented Emilie Goulet!!! Need some cards for the new little people in your life?? It's OH BABY!! Emilie has created a fun set of BABY images for your cards and scrapbook pages!

I really love the way this paper-pieced little image turned out! I stamped the head and moms hands out on x-press CS and coloured with copics, and then adhered it to the DP stamped image (which I shaded with grey copics) I added a TE tiny twinkle to her ring. The sentiment was stamped on a MFT die and the ribbon and twine treatment is product from the Ribbon Carousel.

I'll be giving this card to my newest nephew, Mr. Carter Coleman! I coloured up the baby to match Carters black hair.

Below you will find a list of all the Krafty Girls who are sharing PEEKS with you today!! And as you're hoppin' around, be sure to leave a comment at each stop because someone will win a package of these fun stamps!!

Today is Fun Friday at Your Next Stamp, and this months theme is Let It Snow....

I've used a fun winter image, Jenny From Canada (Yep- that's right....I've been immortalized in rubber;)...that just makes me happy!

I coloured her with copics and added some paper-piercing around the edge of the panel. MFT dies make up the snowflake/maple leaf embellie and the sentiment (MFT) was stamped on the Fishtail Flags layers STAX. I've used some Michaels brads, SU red satin ribbon and a spiral clip. The DP is Echo Park and CS is from SU.

(MFTWSC94} Let's Feast

The time has come for my last post as this past months Guest Designer for My Favorite Things. I can't thank MFT enough for the generous prize package and all of the sweet comments from the Team Members! I have had lots of fun creating samples for the new release and hope that you've enjoyed my work:)

This week we have another great sketch for you to play along with:
I used Turkey Time, colouring her up with copics and paper-piecing her dress (2 different patterns) and her shoes! I just love this little girl and her cute lil turkey! It's like a cornish game hen!

I added some brown brads (Michaels), and a strip of teal Silky Crush ribbon (Ribbon Carousel) and bow in place of the horizontal panel. I stamped the sentiment on one of the tabs from Mini Tab Foursome

And here is the inside, using the girl again, this time stamping her in  lighter ink and adding another sentiment from the set in Versamark (my ink of choice for sentiments- it's so black and rich (but be careful to allow for drying time, or you'll have some smudges))

Check out the MFT blog for a list of designers participating in this weeks sketch and play along for a chance to win a gift voucher! Wouldn't that be nice to use on this great release?!?

{MFT New Release} Survivor!

It's release time at My Favorite Things! All of the new stamps and die-namics are available at the MFT store RIGHT NOW! I made one last release project, using the new Have Hope stamp set and the FUNNEST die there is to work with: Support Hope.

I also used the Mini Film Strip, Perfect Bracket Edge,  and Mini Rolled Roses (some are in black CS, so you can't see the detail very good).
I cut the new Framing Flourishes die-namic in half, flanking the bottom corners of the cream panel.
I stamped one of the sentiments from Have Hope in Versamark ink (super black). The DP (BG Little Black Dress) was inked with Fine Linen distress ink. I like the little POP of pink (SU melon mambo) against the black and leopard print;) Ooo-la-la!

I used another of the sentiments on the inside, as well as the large Framing Flourishes again, decorated with the bows from Support Hope.

Here are the new Die-namics that I've used on my card:

{RCC73} TSG177- Halloween!

Have you played along yet with this month's Ribbon carousel Challenge?!  We are now doing monthly challenges with a big 'ol prize at the end for one lucky challenge participant!
Each month we are giving away a ribbon carousel
to one of our randomly chosen challenge participants!

I'm combining the Ribbon Carousel challenge with this weeks There She Goes challenge (TSG177), which so happens to be Halloween/Fall theme as well! Score for me!!

I've used one of my favourite Halloween sets, Hauntingly Delightful, for this card, as well as the silhouette images from Bugs & Hisses. And I heat embossed. I know. But I just knew that the silhouettes and sentiment would look so much better all black and shiny, so I bit the bullet and just did it. Gross. I hate heat embossing. Such a mess. But I do love the look, so sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do;)
I added some RC Net Ribbon in Violet. I also used Bazzill CS in Taffy.

Here's a close-up of Count Drac...

Ready to play with the Ribbon Carousel?!

There are three rules to be eligible for the prize:

1.  You MUST use ribbon or twine on your creation
2. Your project must be based on the theme of the month
3. You must add  a NEW project  to the inlinkz below and link directly back to your project on your blog or online gallery.

You have until October 30th to add your creation to the link below.
The random winner of the ribbon carousel will be announced on the Ribbon Carousel blog on Monday, November 5th!

{MFT Teasers} New Release Pep Rally

Now that we've teased and tempted you all week long, it's almost time for you to shop for your favorite Brand Spankin' New products from MFT.
But first... it's time for our Die-namics Feature and Pre-Release Pep Rally!
Our Design Team has been busy creating jaw-dropping and inspiring projects for you, and we've saved the best for last.
We've taken an in-depth look at this month's Die-namics, while re-visiting the amazing sets being released tonight at 10 PM EST RIGHT HERE in the MFT Boutique.
And while we are at it, how about we make your life even easier with a "cheat sheet" of all that's new?  Head over to the MFT Blog to print out a shopping list.

I made a Christmas banner for my china cabinet. Thankfully, I planned ahead and left the garland up for just such an occasion (wink wink).....Good thing I'm organized like that! lol

Thankfully, I have a VERY sturdy kitchen table that I stood on to take this picture....I had my 6 yr old helping me hang it, and nearly fell off the hutch when I was standing on it (it's 9 ft tall!). He thought maybe it was best after all that I didn't let him get up there like he wanted;)

Here are some closer shots, with the first part of the banner 'MERRY' and two of the three poinsettia's. I used the Jumbo Banner Day Stax die-namic to make the banner sections. I cut the MERRY CHRISTMAS with the new High Rise Alphabet Uppercase dienamics.
I actually made the poinsettias using the Fall Leaves Die-namics. The red petals were made with the largest of the leaves, and the green leaves were made with the small, roundish leaf. I used 2 of the Sunflower dies for the flower centre and added a black button tied with a jute string bow. I cut 6 red leaves, layering them until they resembled poinsettias and then glued 5 green leaves to the back. The gold CS centres were adhered using 3D glue dots.

The banners have black eyelets  and a double length of black jute (the Ribbon Carousel) was threaded through with loops on the end for easy hanging.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

{MFT Teasers} The PI's

Hey there! It's our last day of teasers at My Favorite Things, and as tradition dictates, today we show off the Pure Innocence line! The two PI's that we have for you this month are: Turkey Time and Cornmaze Girl

Since Canadian Thanksgiving is over and done, I chose to work with Cornmaze Girl. We live near a really awesome CornMaze, and we love going there at least a few times a year. There is tons to see and do, besides even setting foot in the maze, and I always take tons of pics, so I was thrilled to see the Cornstalk Die-namic! I know I'll be using this one tons in my cardmaking and the odd bit of scrappin' I do!

I stamped her out, masked her, and then stamped the cornstalks at varying heights. She was coloured with copics and her little tweed jacket was paper-pieced. The die was cut twice, from mustard and espresso CS (SU) and adhered together, slightly staggered for a shadow. The wooden button (SU) was tied with a double jute twine bow (Ribbon Carousel). I used a MME paper pad and added some brown brads to the teal panel.
I stamped the sentiment on one of the dies from the Howdy Frames Dienamics set.

On the inside, I stamped the cornstalk once with Wild Honey Distress Ink and then again, without reinking, right beside. Another sentiment in the set was used as well.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:
  • You can attend the New Release Party on October 16 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can WIN PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on October 16 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is going on now!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to the MFT Blog NOW.  Be sure to leave comments as you go for the chance to win one of 2, $10 gift certificates given away daily.  The winners will be posted on October 16 just before the release party, on the MFT blog.
