{SSSC} Mmm….Donuts

For this weeks SSSC I used some Reverse Confetti products to make a relatively quick and easy card! I used the stamp Donut You Know and co-ordinating Donut You Know Confetti Cuts, as well as some flag dies from MFT. I machine stitched, distressed the papers with TH ink and added a ton of loose rock candy glitter over glossy accents and then 'sprinkled' some little bits of chocolate CS on top of the donut!

Check out what the other Sweet Stampers have for you this week!

{KKS} I look up to YOU!

Hello, Krafty Friends! I am coming to you today with a scheduled blogpost, as I am currently in Sunny California, as my little one calls it! I came here for a solo vacay to visit my folks…leaving hubby behind with the rug rats!
This weeks Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is to use BRIGHT colours on your project!

I used this sweet stamp from the set Safari Fun and paper from the American Crafts 'Family Fun' pad which is available in the KKS shop! I added in some black twine and a bright orange flower and green button. I embossed the blue CS with a spotted looking folder to mimic the giraffes spots.

We hope you can play along with us! Check out the KKS blog for more inspiration!

{SPD} You're a Gem!

Time for another sketch challenge from SugarPea Designs! I used one of my fave stamps sets, Go-pher It! (even though it IS a Gopher, which is the natural enemy of a farm raised kid LOL)…I used a cool Pink Paislee pad with gems on it and coloured up my guy's treasures to match :) I added glossy accents and glitter to the gems, as well as the hard hat and pick-axe and rocks. I added on some adhesive gems and enamel dots as well. Circle and flag dies are MFT.

Here is our sketch for you to play along! We'd love to see your gorgeous creations!!

The rules are very simple…

{SPD13} Shake That Thing

Hey there! Quick post to show you my shaker card for this weeks SugarPea Designs Challenge!

I took a pencil and lightly drew out a swirly flight path for my stamped and die cut paper airplane on a piece of translucent vellum. I then machine stitched over the line and erased any pencil marks. I stitched the vellum to the DP on three sides and then filled up the pocked with various shaker bits using cut outs from SPD dies (see end of the post). The 4th side was then sewn up. I used pop up foam dots to add the paper airplane and heat embossed the sentiment onto the bottom of the card. Voila! Shaker card complete!!

Here are the products that I'ved used on my card this week:

Okay, I don't know if you all know this….but I LOVE Emilie Goulet's stuff!!! I was so thrilled when she started illustrating for KKS again! I just adore her whimsical style! This set is so awesome- You are gonna love it too!  I coloured up my girls with copics and added some white paint pen to their cheeks, and the yellow shirt. I cut with a stitched circle die, out of the box style. I added a banner die and some homemade paper flowers (both MFT dies). The paper buttons in the centre of the flowers is a TCP die. I added some black twine to the flowers. Since I didn't seem to have room left on the front for a sentiment, I decided to finish the inside of the card and add one in there. This is a square card, measuring 5x5".

I did some distress sponging and then embossed my stamp with white powder. I added little stars from the stamp set Sleigh Mail. I adhered some tiny twinkles to the centre of some of the larger stars. The black paper was embossed with a woodgrain embossing plate (TE). Dies are all MFT. I added some silver cord and a silver star brad. The tree border was cut in white and vellum, staggered overtop and machine stitched.

Here's a closeup. As you can see, there is a mist of embossing powder. If you know me at all, you'll know that heat embossing is the bane of my crafty existence. I HATE doing it. It's messy. It doesn't turn out half the time. But there are times when you know it's just the right thing to do. Since I am not a fan of the technique, my supplies are sad. I lost my embossing buddy years ago. And EVERY. DANG. TIME. I emboss I am cursing myself for not replacing it LOL! But I wanted a really lit up, starry sky, so I think it works fine this time ;) Hehe!

I used Gandalf and made my son a birthday card. He loves LOTR and The Hobbit so this was perfect! I coloured with Copics. I didn't initially plan on making his robe this dark, but my lovely C9 made a huge blop at the bottom (the wide, dark pleat) so I had to go darker to try to blend it in :) Oh well! I tired to use really suitable paper and I found this pad with the map and clocks, so I think it was okay. I used some brown twine and a grey button. I love the sentiment. Ryan is only 11, but he's kind of a wise old soul and if you know him, you'll understand how he is and that he'd probably even say something like this quote in regular conversation LOL!
Here is the inside. Excuse the poor photo. I didn't realize it was so out of focus! I used the sentiment from the Galadriel set.

{SSSC} Wish Big

Hey there! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I can't believe my oldest boy is turning eleven on Monday!! *sniff sniff* Seems like only yesterday he was a roly poly little tyke…

Here's my card for this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I've used Tallulah Has A Tutu from Stamping Bella. I love this stamp! I added a sentiment from the set Storybook by Avery Elle. I think it suit the stamp LOL! I coloured with Copics and added glossy accents to the balloon and polka dots on the tutu and some glitter to her crown and underside of the tutu. Die are all MFT. I added some black machine stitching to join the DP patterns together.

Here is your sketch for this week:

Check out what the other Sweet Stampers have in store for you!
