{MFTWSC104} Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 2012 was a year packed full of fun and adventure, good times and bad. I am so excited for all that 2013 has in store for me and the big kick off to the new year is some very exciting news I am able to share with you! A couple of weeks ago I received quite a shocker that frankly still has me baffled and pinching myself and grinning like a fool every 10 minutes!

Kim and Jody from My Favorite Things offered me a position on their AMAZING Design Team!!!!!! ACK!!! I never thought it would happen to me! This has been a stamping dream of mine for A LONG TIME! I love all things MFT and lemme tell ya, I was a good customer (*wink wink*)...I can only hope that I'll prove to be just as good a Designer as I was a shopper!

To celebrate both the ringing in of a brand new year and my new adventure with MFT, I made a card to share with you.....

I've actually used a stamp more geared towards the 4th of July, but I thought it would work for New Years as well! It's Pure Innocence My Little Firecracker.

I've used some great Die-namics on my card front as well: By the Numbers and Mix & Match Banner.

For the inside, I've stamped a lovely sentiment from the set Clearly Sentimental About New Beginnings    in Versamark Onyx Black. Again, I've used the Mix & Match Banner Die-namic.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I used this weeks Wednesday Sketch for my layout! There is still a wee bit of time for you to play along for your chance at winning some MFT cash! See the challenge thread HERE on SCS for more details. And if you are curious to see who else will be joining the MFT team, then head over to the BLOG!! Trust me, she is a MASTER and I'll be working my tushie off to keep up with her...the bar is HIGH!

And Teaser Time starts Wednesday! I am soooo excited and nervous, so wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by and a very Happy New Year to you all!

TSG188- Wishing You.....

Hey there! As we wrap up 2012, I have a card to share with you for this weeks challenge at There She Goes. It's brought to us by trendsetter Tobi, and she wants us to try a fun technique- sponging using your die cuts!

I made a simple, but elegant card, using some sentiments from the set Wishing You. When I cut my spellbinders oval, I just left it in the open metal die and sponged two different colours of brown ink (creamy brown and dark brown chalk ink), then stamped the sentiment on.

I've used some gorgeous ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel (they are having a HUGE sale, so be sure to check them out!).

Ugly Sweater

I thought that i would sneak in one last Christmas card just under the wire before the big day! This is probably my favorite card I've made this season...mostly because ugly Christmas sweaters speak to me. I LOVE them!!! LOVE. They make me happy. I feel no shame, only unbridled joy and holiday spirit :) This card was so fun to 'ugly up'!!! Set my inner tacky decorator free....

I used a digital image from Saturated Canary, called (Ugly) Christmas Sweater. I coloured her with copics and added some spica glitter pens, loose fine glitter (to the tree) and sakura glaze pen. I wanted to get freaky with the stickles and add some tacky bling, but you have to be careful with the digi's because the printer ink will bleed....I have learned that the hard way!

Here is a closeup. I've added some MFT snowflake dies in silver CS and buttons tied with TCP's linen thread. The sentiment comes with the set and the paper bow underneath is also made with an MFT die. The silver tinsel ribbon is from SU and the red pleated mesh is from the Ribbon Carousel store. The little green jingle bell was a found item off my entrance way floor! I am assuming it fell off one of the boys' Christmas crafts from school! lol! Finders, keepers.

Here is the inside, using more snowflakes and my first ever attempt at Washi tape! Fun!!

Thanks for stopping by, and wishing you all the best this holiday season and always!

{TSG preview} Sparkly & Bright

When we saw these SUPER gorgeous characters from Torico, we were instantly in love. These gorgeous girls love their retail therapy, so no matter your gift giving reason-whether it be Christmas or Birthday, they've got you covered.

Sparkly & Bright  is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 12 stamps and will sell for $18.00.

I was really shooting for an elegant look with this card. I wanted her to be wearing a camel wool coat and matching hat, and it was really fun to colour, but then I think I *may* have made the wrong choice and added some Copic Opaque white paint here and there for highlights and ruined it all :( Too late to start over though, so here it is ;) I've used some gorgeous Ribbon Carousel products (antique gold ribbon, burgundy satin stripe ribbon and black jute twine)  that I bought just for Christmas cards!

Would you like to win the new Sparkly & Bright stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.

You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, December 22nd with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

{TSG preview} Tooth Fairy Approved

Melyssa is back today with a set that is Tooth Fairy Approved! Whether congratulating your child for losing a tooth, scrapbooking the loss of a tooth, or leaving a note for the tooth fairy, you have so many options for them all!

Tooth Fairy Approved is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 17 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

I've coloured my fairy with copics, and added dazzling diamonds glitter (SU) to her crown, wings, wand and shoes. I've used some shimmery sheer white ribbon (Ribbon Carousel) to make a bubbly bow and added some pink rhinestones to the sentiment flag (cut with an MFT die, as well as the fishtail flag). I'll have to wait til one of my nieces loses a tooth, as this is a pretty frilly little girls card ;)
I've also used this weeks TSG sketch challenge (#186) for my layout. Check out the details on how you can join us this week HERE. And here's a little look at that great sketch again:

Nerds are all the rage right now, and we at There She Goes are in love with this SUPER nerdy, super cute set from Melyssa, Smarty Pants.  With 23 stamps in this set, you will have SO many fun options for the nerd in your life!

I've coloured her up with copics, added some MFT dies (notebook edge and file tab), Ribbon Carousel ribbon and Authentique DP. I added sakura glaze pen to her glasses, buttons and mary jane shoes. The layout is courtesy of this weeks SSSC.

Smarty Pants is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 23 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

{RCC75} Sending Christmas Cheer

Have you played along yet with this month's Ribbon carousel Challenge?!  We are now doing monthly challenges with a big 'ol prize at the end for one lucky challenge participant!
Each month we are giving away a Ribbon Carousel
to one of our randomly chosen challenge participants!

This month's theme is

The Holidays

I've used MFT's Sparkling Season a la mode,  fancy flourish Die, and bracket tab die. My 'spool' element is my favorite Ribbon Carousel jute twine in black.
I've used MFT's current weekly sketch challenge for my layout.

There She Goes (Again!) Ho Ho Ho!

Hi there! Today, the TSG Trendsetters are featuring new cards made with the 3 (oldie but goodie) sets being showcased on the TSG blog this week: HoHoHo, No Peeking, and Holiday Tags
I love the little set HoHoHo (not only is it a great price) but the illustrations by Torico are just adorable!
I made my cousin an ornament for her tree. I am going to hang this off her actual present as a nice little tag! I was her matron of honour in her wedding this summer and so this is her and hubby's first Christmas as a married couple!

This first pic is with the flash of my camera on, so it's pretty stark with the white! But you can see the detail a bit better (forgive my bad photography, but I took this tonight!) I used an Stampin' Up snowflake BIGZ die, cut two pieces of lightweight chipboard and glued them together and painted with white acrylic and inked with tea dye distress ink. I then cut a snowflake out of thin wood veneer (SU as well) and glued that onto the chipboard ones and inked it also. This is a pretty solid snowflake (2 layers of chipboard, 3 coats of paint and a layer of wood!), so I hope it lasts for years to come!

I stamped the reindeer and coloured with copics, mounted onto larger green circle and crystal effects their noses, bells and hooves and used a glaze pen for the eyes and antlers. The bells and green ribbons also have spica pen added.
I added a gold bow (SU- Summer Starfruit) and button tied with linen thread (TCP). The edges of the snowflake and around the circle die were topped with a light coating of Crystal Effects (SU) and chunky glitter (SU) was added.
Here is a pic of the ornament on my Christmas tree with the soft glow of the tree lights....

I computer-generated the little personalized words on the back, to commemorate the year :)
The holly and berries were cut using a Lil Inkers die. I used more twine to make a loop for it to hang on the tree.

Go on over to the TSG BLOG to see what the other designers have come up with today:)

{MFT} CAS Christmas Cards

Hey there! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a nice, but pretty busy one :) Friday night my boys and I played a pirate board game and I worked on a project for my stamping ladies- we meet Monday night! We are making a fun Christmas project (I'll share pics soon) and then I got to have a nice hot bath when hubs got home from work, to soothe my poor aching back! I hurt it last week, then hurt it more tying skates, then proceeded to slip on the ice when I was getting out of my truck on friday! Jeez! Saturday we went into town and had a nice lunch out and then saw Rise of the Guardians, which was FREAKING AMAZING in my opinion!! I LOVED every second of it and would see it again in a heartbeat! I can't wait for it to come out on DVD!! (I think I get excited about kids movies more than the kids! lol) Today we had my hubby's family Christmas with all the extended families that we don't get to see to often- we rented a little hall, so that no one had to worry about anything. It was catered and all. Nice! No work, no mess!
This morning I thought I should pump out a few cards for the family! I saw something like this on pinterest a few weeks ago, jotted down a simple sketch and here they are (I have no idea where the card  is, I didn't 'pin' it, just saw it on there somewhere).

I used MFT's Winter Wreath dienamic to make the wreath and bow (the wreath was cut twice from Old Olive CS, and bow once from Cherry Cobbler CS). I used Very Vanilla CS for the rest of the 'door' as well as the card base. I added a little door knob using a large brown brad.

These have a bit of dimension with the gorgeous wreath, but are still flat enough to fit easily into an envie. I am going to make more of these for the rest of my cards I still have to give.  I made 8 in an hour, just to give you an idea- so that's under 10 minutes per card! (and that included my tinkering around with measurements and such)...and if I would have had another wreath die, it would have gone even faster ;) I think the next batch will go quicker.

On the inside, I simply stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink (SU). It's from the set Seasonal Sentiments, which is such a great go-to set for all your Christmas verses!

Thanks for popping in!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

10 Minute Craft Dash #8 (use red on your card) 10 Minute Craft Dash (make a card in under 10 mins)

My card tonight features Esmerelda, my personal favorite of this release....She was so much fun to colour!!! I used my copics, as always, and added a touch of white gel pen to accent her hair, the large rose, and bits and pieces of her tattoos. And don't be intimidated by colouring these very detailed stamps, the more details, the easier they actually are to colour! There is not to much guess work in the pleats of the skirts, as Annie draws most of what you see here right into her stamp illustrations! You just have to follow along with your markers! I've had friends say 'Oh, I could never colour that' and you know, I used to think that to until I just gave it a shot!! And there is no right or wrong way. No one is going to say that the light would not hit that exact spot! lol!

I used some MFT rolled rose Dies, and hand cut some leaves to go with them! There is a ton of distressing on this one, as well as inking and sewing. And don't you just love the sentiment that goes along with this one?
The black jute is from the Ribbon Carousel.

And of course, as always, we have our Gimme Kimmies Kits available for those of you who ‘need it all’!! The stamps are grouped together by artist and are available at a discount, but only for a limited time!!

{KKS} Trinkets Preview

WOW! I can't believe it's the end of the year

already!! Well, we've got lot of amazing new stuff at

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! for our final release of 2012!!

Get ready for our DECEMBER 2012 RELEASE!!!!!

We are kicking off the *New* DECEMBER Kraftin’

Kimmie Stamps previews today and first off, we’d like

to introduce you to a beautiful new set of Trinkets!!! We

are very excited to share with you our

GORGEOUS….CIRCUS TRINKETS!!!

What a FUN set of awesome new stamps....and I don't

suppose it's going to be too hard to figure out what

theme one of the artists worked with this month,

huh??

These circular sentiment stamps have been created and

designed by the totally talented Krafty Girl, Nicole

Aspinall!! They are made especially to fit in your 1

3/8  and 1 ¾ inch punches, for quick and easy

cutting!!! This month we are releasing the CIRCUS

Trinkets set which includes EIGHT trinkets in each set

with four of each size and they come as both positive

and negative images, so you can use your black or

brown ink with the positive stamps and use your

coloured inks with the negative ones!! You will get the

set as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply

etched grey rubber.

A lot of the Krafty Girls are cardmakers and we have

found these to be such a quick and easy way to add a

sentiment to our creations or to use as the focal point

on your cards! They are also perfect for your

Smashbook pages and your scrapbook pages, not to

mention your altered items and tags!! No stamper's

stash is complete without them!

I made this cute lil popcorn bucket shaped card front and slapped it on a base. I used some MFT dies to make the popcorn and film strip die, as well as a scallop border die for the top of the container. The popcorn kernels were inked for some definition (and butter;) and layered them on using adhesive and dimensionals. I used my 1 3/8 " circle punch to cut out the trinket, and matted it with spellbinder circle dies. I added some TE gold twinkle rhinestones to the trinket. The gorgeous ribbon and twine are from the Ribbon Carousel.

Today we have awesome samples that the Krafty Girls

have put together for you....and be sure to comment on

each and every stop because one lucky stamper is

going to WIN the new CIRCUS TRINKETS set!!! {And just

WAIT 'til you see how they combine with our other NEW

December stamps!!!}

Happy kraftin'!

For my second card I've used the Vintage Seam Binding as well, only this time in Black. I accented the sentiment with the Arrow  A Cut Above die. The stamps that I used for this card are from the set Wings of Love

{TSG184} Gift Tags

Hello! I used this weeks There She Goes Challenge (#184- hosted by Wendy) to take the opportunity to make some gift tags for my kidlet's Christmas presents.

The Just for You dies make whipping up tags fast and easy! For each tag I used one DP and one white CS die cut, and adhered them together to add a little strength. I stamped the sentiment from the No Peeking! set on the small flag die. The circle stamps and little images are all from the No Peeking! set as well. I punched the circles out with a SU circle punch and matted with a larger circle cut with my nesties.

Here is a closeup of one of the tags. I coloured them all with copics and added a bit of stickles and/or glaze to each one, just to give them a little sparkle! I used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole and add an eyelet to each tag and then threaded some Oyster Divine Twine (The Cat's Pyjamas) through. These really are not fancy, as there will be 3 completely crazed little boys ripping them off their gifts on Christmas morning, so I really don't want to make anything to time/money consuming. I do want to hand-make their tags, but don't want to make them a 'labour of love' in that I am fretting over my coffee, worrying about the tags, rather than taking in the joy of watching them tear into their prezzies! KWIM? Keep it simple when making anything for children or people that you *think might not fully appreciate the act of a handmade gift!

And here is the back of the tags. I used the 'To:/From:" from the set Holly Jolly.

Play along with us this week for your chance at some TSG bucks! Check out the blog for more info :)
