{MFTWSC126} Birthday Girl

Hey there! Time for another Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge from My Favorite Things! A friend's daughter is celebrating her 2nd Birthday soon and this kid is the cutest thing! She has always reminded me of the Pure Innocence girls from MFT! I decided to use this week's sketch to make her a card for her special day!

I used PI: Birthday Girl (which I just got in my last MFT order- I've been wanting her since she was released!!). I coloured her with Copics, and pieced her dress and the balloon. She was stamped on X-press It Blending Card. I also used the Instaframe Die-namic, Fishtail Flags, and Looped Border on the inside.
MFT CS used: Gumdrop Green, Razzle berry, and Blu Raspberry. I added a bow with Berrylicious ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment onto a Fishtail Flag (that I cut on both ends) in Black Licorice ink. I used the Typewriter Alphabet to create the text.

Here's the inside, using two more sentiments from the set, and the Looped Border. I used Smooth White CS on the inner panel.

Here are the links to the MFT supplies that I've used today.

Why don't you play along with us this week?! there is up to $20 in prize money up for grabs each week with MFT wednesday stamp club! Enter the keyword MFTWSC126 when uploading your card to an online gallery. You can find more deets on the blog HERE or on our SCS thread! Check it out!

{MFT} Happy Birthday Dad!

Hey there! I have a quick card to share with you this morning. Today is my dad's birthday, so I made him a card using the new Life's Direction set from MFT. The minute I saw this set, I knew it would be perfect for him- He's been a farmer and cattle rancher his entire life.

I wanted the cows to appear like a herd, so I stamped the darkest one first (in Hot Fudge ink) and then continued to stamp cows off, never re-inking. I stamped the herd onto a Fishtail Flag STAX die. The kraft panel was stamped with Kraft ink, using the Western Borders set. The Gumdrop Green CS was stamped with the coordinating ink with the chicken wire from Distressed Background Blocks. 'Happy Birthday' is also from Life's Direction.

I also wanted to keep with his farm colour scheme, which is John Deere green and yellow (Gumdrop Green and Lemon Drop). I tied a lemon drop button with Hemp Cord. I added some mini brads (fencing nails ;). I distressed the Whip Cream and Kraft CS with Kraft ink sponging.

For the inside, I cut DAD from Hot Fudge CS with the By The Letter Uppercase die-namic. I adhered it over a strip of barn board from the Western Borders set (stamped in Kraft ink). I used this week's WSC sketch (#125). You can see the details for that challenge on the SCS thread HERE!

{TSG209} I Dig Circles

This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, Mary!  She has challenged us to make a card or project using circles, whether they be die cuts, or on patterned paper, think round!!

I've used an image from the new Aquaholics set (which is my FAVE of this release! So much fun stuff you can do with these images for the summer months!)
I used a few circles in my LO: she is mounted on a circle panel, my green DP is polka dot, as is the SU ribbon and I matched her shorts/shirt by colouring green with copics and adding some white dots with my white pen. The sentiment is stamped on a circle in the sun, and I added an MFT circle border! Plus the cloud EF (SU) pattern is made with tiny dots!!

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using circles, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until 11pmEST. The winner will be announced on the following Monday (June 3rd). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG209 so we can check out your beautiful work!

I used the super cute new Lulu from the set Totally Tubular. I coloured her up with Copics, and added a lot of spica glitter to her! I also gave her shades a coat of glaze pen. The banners were cut using Fishtail Flags STAX and Layers from MFT. I added a bunch of silver brads. I faux-stitched around the flags with a white sharpie paint pen to help them stand out a bit more. I used Deconstructed Sketch 101 for this card, although I did change up the round element to a rectangle panel to suit the image.

{TSG} Happy Birthday Jessica!

I am so excited to be participating in today's TSG Blog Hop! We have planned a fun Birthday Hop for our friend and fearless leader Jessica Knutsen

Of course it was a no-brainer which TSG set I'd be using for Jessica! When a bunch of crafty friends met in Florida in February, there was some mischief (I won't name any names) and the HOA Ninja's undertook their first mission! Jessica gave me a black T-shirt that read 'Budget Ninja Costume'!!! LOL!!! I still have it and it cracks me up whenever I pull it out! My hubby's even been known to swipe it on occasion ;)

So here is my Birthday card for Jessica, using Ninja Skillz.

Here's a closeup of my sneaky ninja girl ;)

I hope you have a wonderful Birthday Jessica! You have been a treat to work with at TSG and you deserve every bit of happiness! xoxo

{TSG} Miss you tons!

Wendy Leach’s newest addition to her Sock Goblin line, Gloria…well, she is sure to find her way into your heart, and make you love her just like you love Phyllis and Larry!

I can't help but think of Gloria from Madagascar! I don't think it's a coincidence ;) lol! Remember the part when the male hippo Moto Moto was hitting on her? 'Girl, you HUGE!' and 'You so plumpin' and 'I like 'em BIG, I like 'em CHUNKY!' Bahahaha! Definitely my fave part of the movie :D Here's a clip I found on youtube!

I coloured up Gloria with my copics. I actually made a more masculine card, since Gloria is kind of a unisex looking character ;) I used MFT's Circle STAX 1 and 2 and the sentiment was stamped and matted onto Fishtail Flags STAX and Layers. I added a tangy orange button tied with hemp twine. The CS colours I used are X-press it Blending Card (I always use to colour on), Black Licorice, and Steel Blue.
I love this new Teresa Collins 'He Said' 6x6 designer paper pad.

Gloria is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 3 stamps and will sell for $9.00. This set will be available for purchase on Saturday, May 25th at 11pmEST.
Would you like to win the new Gloria stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, May 25th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

{MFTWSC125} Direction of Your Dreams

Howdy friends! Time for another sketch challenge from My Favorite Things! This weeks sketch is sure to be one that you add to your library! It is so simple and clean, yet you can add a lot of details (like I did) to make it work for the more-is-more kind of stamper! It is just a really versatile and all round awesome layout!

I pulled out some new and old MFT goodies to give this card a country charm appeal....You'll see the new set, Life's Direction as well as the Chicken Wire die-namic (which I am practically have an affair with, I love it soooo much! Seriously, if you can only afford ONE product from our last release THIS needs to be IT! lol! It has a permanent position beside my Bigshot!)

And my usual go-to die set, which I use on literally almost EVERY card- Fishtail Flags STAX and Layers. I stamped the sentiment on there in Black Licorice ink. I added that delicious Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose in Electric Red and threw in a big Hemp bow tucked under and knotted in the centre of the rose.
MFT CS colours used were: Electric Red, Whip Cream, Gumdrop Green, and Hot Fudge.

On the inside, I stamped the rooster from the set in Gumdrop Green ink and the sentiment in Black Licorice. I sponged the edges in Kraft Ink.

You can see what the other girls on the team have done with the sketch, as well as deets on how you can participate and WIN at the MFT BLOG!!
