{TCPTUES185} A Cute Couple

Hi there! Today is Tuesday- why so excited about a Tuesday you ask?? Well, in the wide world of stamping, Tuesday is a pretty important day of the week! It's TCPTUES....And who doesn't love The Cat's Pajamas?? An amazing company that sells some of the cutest stamps on the planet- and at a good price to boot!

I used a combination of two stamp sets for this card.....The boy and the sentiment are from the set Like You A Latte, and the little girl is from You Suit Me.

The kids were stamped with memento ink and coloured with copics. Spica clear glitter pen was added to the steam and the hearts on the mugs. I also added dimples to their cheeks with a white gel pen. They were then cut out and popped up on dimensionals and attached to the spellbinders panel (which was embossed with a circle folder for more texture).

The Snowflake cutup die was cut from sticky paper and covered with microfine glitter in turquoise and lime (the inner, diamond shaped pieced weren't popped out of the diecut). The sentiment was stamped and then cut out using the banner from the Easy Rosettes cutup.

{TSG130} Recipe Challenge

Hi there!
This week our challenge is brought to us by our Senior Trendsetters. The week before release week there will be a TSG (Again!) week where we will be featuring cards/projects/tip sheets/etc. on the TSG Blog that use our fabulous older TSG stamp sets. This week the challenge is to create a card or project with the following recipe: A snowflake and a bird (it must have both images), and at least one kind of ribbon or a button.

Okay- I am relatively new to TSG and so I don't have these older sets that the Senior Trendsetters are using, but I played along anyway, making a fun a fun Christmas tag using No Peeking (sorry, currently out of stock) from the last release. I used the partridge and the snowflake from the set!

I stamped the snowflakes in white craft ink, and inked the edges of the crumb cake cs triangle and embossed using iridescent ice powder (SU). The crumb cake and olive 'tree' tag base were cut using TCP's Pennant Cutup die. The tree was cut from chocolate chip cs using MFT's tree dienamic. I inked the tops of the branches to look like snow and I applied stickles to the ground and sprinkled chunky glitter (SU) on top. The bird was stamped on crumb cake cs and coloured with copics, spica being added to the beak and leaves in buttermilk and mint. A big red SU button was threaded with hemp twine and adhered, and the ribbon (SU) at the top of the tag was threaded through a large eyelet (SU) and tied with more hemp twine. Behind the green layer of CS, I added 2 layers of thicker kraft paper (the kind that comes behind your paper packs- keep that stuff!) to make it more sturdy for adding to a prezzie:)
I love the way the triangle-tree shaped tag looks, so you can bet I'll be using this idea again real soon!

{YNSC55} Friends Furever

Hi there friends! Well, we are home safe and sound and all children accounted for:) Florida was amazing...warm weather, great scenery, nice people and lots of fun things to do and see! Legoland was out of this world and the Magic Kingdom was magical indeed! Wish we could have stayed longer...oh well, just an excuse to go back! If any head honcho's from WestJet read my blog (likely, right?! hehe), PLEASE get some direct flights from Alberta to Florida!!! Layovers with 3 small children really suck!! But the kids did great flying and it was all worth it!
Well I was gone, Your Next Stamp put out a little challenge! Make a card with a FRIEND theme. With all the hoopla of packing myself and 3 little ones, I totally forgot to prepost my blog! So here I am, better late than never:)

I used the sweet little boy and his furry friend from the set Fetch, some OA paper and a button tied with linen thread. The banner was made with TCP's Easy Rosette die.

{Kraftin' Kimmie) Make it Masculine

Hi there! This weeks challenge at KKS is to make a masculine card! I have lots of boys in my life (no, I am not that kinda girl;)..I have a family full of guys! Out of 13 cousins on my maternal side, only 2 of us are girls! And on my dad's side, 3 girls out of 11! I know. Crazy!
I used the sweetest little guy that Kraftin' Kimmie has to offer....little Willard! Isn't he precious! Lord, he hates the cold!!! Maybe it's cuz his mama dresses him in this ridiculous snowsuit and sends him off to school everyday to get pummelled....I don't know!

  Since he just looks so cold, I thought I would make a little 'Brrr' banner! I used MFT's banner die, a TCP alphabet, and attached the triangles with SU cord brads. Some walmart brown hemp twine runs to the back of the cardfront. The little snowflake is also a MFT die and is topped with an SU cord button and more twine.  The dp (SU) panels are all various widths and are matted with chocolate chip CS and machine stitched with matching brown thread.

I added some distressed stickles to his hat fur and topped with some chunky white SU glitter (actually to cover up the rancid liquid applique- anyone's ever go 'bad'?? Mine would NOT fluff up with the heat gun, even after leaving it the full night to dry....)

For the inside, I kept the panel theme going, adding a few more snowflakes and stitching, and die cut the sentiment panels from another MFT dienamic. The sentiment is from the new Moonlight Whispers Eva, but I thought that it totally suited this freezer-burnt little fella;)

Hi there! I am crossing my fingers that this post goes live when it's supposed too! If all goes as planned, then while you are reading this, I'll be having the time of my life in Florida at Disneyworld!! Whoot whoot!
Today our hostess is the one and only, super stamper, Susan Liles! She has given us a stamp challenge with a new spin! Our supply challenges will now not only feature a stamp, or line/theme of stamps, but Cutup dies will be included in the challenges! Fun, right? This week Susie is giving us a lip-smacking, mouth-watering mission: Use any food themed stamp and/or the Icing Cutup die!

{Kraftin' Kimmie} Pin It Up!

Hi there! I had so much fun last month guest designing for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, and Kim is such a great gal, that she asked me to stay on for November! Yay!! I am a huge fan and of course snatched the opportunity right up! Thanks Kimmie!
This weeks Krafty Challenge is 'Pin It Up'.... use pins in your project.
I decided to ink up my brand new, but never used Sarah Shopper from October's release. I do enjoy me some shopping, so this is a great stamp for me! But who the heck can shop in heels????? If it's a serious day of shopping (which it looks like it is for Sarah;), I lean towards running shoes or birkenstocks;)

I've coloured her with copics and paper pieced a couple of her shopping bags. The stamped panel was matted with a deckled rectange nestie and popped up on foam boosters. The dp's were stitched together with chocolate thread. An MFT dienamic cut the notebook edge on the espresso CS strip, and some silky Walnut Brown vintage seam binding from the Ribbon Carousel made a beautful bow. I attached the little 'Sale' tag (MFT dogtag die, TCP alphabet and SU linen thread) and stuck two fancy stick pins through the crinkly bow.

For the inside, I kept with the same dp and deckled rectangle dies, adding some satin SU ribbon between the patterns. The sentiment comes with this set and was stamped in Versamark for that nice, dark effect. The patterned paper is BasicGray's Indian Summer, and is a little on the gawdy side, but I got a steal of a deal, so I HAD to buy it. Sale, right??? You know it girls!!! LOL! So, I guess it kind of went with the theme of this card;) The sentiment cracks me up too!!! It's my new mantra;)
