{TI} Birthdays and Books...

We've got another Fabulous Friday for you at Tiddly Inks- lots of cards to hopefully inspire you over the weekend! Maybe Mother's Day for you involves some uninterrupted crafty time? For me, I asked my hubby and boys to take me to The Amazing Spiderman 2 movie!! Ha! I am such a dude! I love movies like that, and with four males in the house and only one girl, I think that's okay :)

I've used School Girl on my card today- and guess what? She's a steal at only $1.00!! I actually used some Easter paper from Authentique, but these were the colours I was going for and I'm not one to really limit my seasonal paper to it's intended holiday :) If you look closely, you'll see the words from Peter Cottontail on the script DP- but hey, that was a pretty good story! 
This card is actually a Mother's Day/Birthday card for my Mother-in-law. Her birthday is Saturday, so she gets a combo gift and card! She's a teacher and an avid reader, so I'm sure she'll like this :) I got her a gorgeous pair of amethyst Pandora earrings and a GC to Chapters…aren't I the best Daughter-in-law?! I'll put hubby's name on the card too, I guess….after all, he'll be paying the MC bill next month;)

{SPD} Pure Magic

Welcome to the fourth, and final day of SugarPea Designs Sweet Sneaks! Today we are showing you the cutest lil boy set: Pure Magic, from the Sugar Snap Collection.

Okay, I'm just gonna be honest with ya. I love this card. It came out better than I had even planned, so that always makes a person a wee bit excited about their work! Right? lol! or am I just a weirdo? So I am seriously going to bombard you with pictures, because I took a lot! Haha! Get comfy, grab a coffee.

I coloured him with copics, adding a bit of pastel pencil for darker shading. I covered the yellow on his vest and bow tie with gold spica pen. The dress shirt is paper-pieced and the bow tie is popped up on the edges. I added some gold paper and enamel dots and the dies are from YNS (stars), MFT (sentiment) and TCP (moustache). I also tied some jute twine in black around the card panel.

Glossy accents were added to the buttons, card, eyes and wand tip. I also added some to the stars and dots on the bow tie and sprinkled on some rock candy glitter.

{SPD} Hello Sunshine!

The SugarPeas are at it again! Today we are showing you a new stamp from the Sweet P Collection. It's called Hello Sunshine and it's my personal favourite of this month's release (although that's a bit like trying to choose your favourite child, lol! You just love them all!)...

 I was honestly a wee bit intimidated with the size of this image…larger stamps turn me into a commitment-phobe ;) I almost get a little gun-shy! lol! But this one actually turned out to be pretty quick and simple to colour! So if you're like me and shy away from bigger stamps, I really encourage you to give it a shot! 

I coloured her with copics and pastels, and pieced the umbrella, popping it up on foam dots for more dimension. I added sponging for the cloudy sky, machine stitching, some cloud and sun dies (I love how the sun is peeking out from behind the vellum cloud sentiment die!) I added some enamel dots as well (the heart dot on the cloud is actually being used the hide stacked up dimensionals to adhere the vellum into place! sneaky sneaky!)
