{MFT} Teaser Time Day 3

Teaser Time, Day 3 is underway, with the DT and friends shining the spotlight on a few more fabby sets! The set that I am working with today is called Life's Direction, and I love this set, as it's close to my heart. I grew up on the family farm and now both of my brothers farm with my dad. Growing up in the country, taking care of cows, horses, pigs and sheep was the best gift my parents could have given me I think. At the time I probably did my fair share of grumbling at all of the work farm kids had to do in comparison to my 'town friends', but I think it worked out for the best!! We used to get up early, so that we could walk down to the barnyard (in complete terror, as it was pitch black in the winter and we had to walk through a grove of spooky trees) and feed our steers and pigs. We lived to far from town to ever get little summer and after school jobs, so we raised animals and sold them to earn extra money. Dad would help us buy our starter pigs at the market and we'd pay him back (not likely all the we owed ;) when it came time for them to be sold.  Anyway, I just love anything to do with the country life when it comes to crafting!

I made a set of 3 smaller cards (these each measure 3.5 x 5) using Life's Direction! I also used Distressed Background Blocks (behind the images) and the new Happy Hello die-namic.

For the first card, I stamped the rooster in Wild Cherry ink, masked him, and then stamped the distressed chicken wire in Black Licorice onto Smooth White CS. I added a strip of Sour Apple ribbon and hemp cord. I matted the card front in Black Licorice CS and adhered it to a Wild Cherry CS base.

The second card uses the dots from Distressed Background Blocks, stamped in Kraft ink, and I stamped the weathervane in Black Licorice ink over top. I added some glaze pen over that to make it stand out a bit more. A strip of Wild Cherry ribbon and hemp were attached to the middle. I stamped the sentiment onto a Fishtail Flag Layers and STAX die-namics. Sour Apple and Kraft CS were used on this one.

The third card is my favorite from the set and shows off one of the dies from the Happy Hello set (which I think is a total necessity!!). I ran the 'hello' through my xyron sticker maker for easy application. I used Kraft ribbon, Hemp cord and a Sour Apple button on this one. The checkerboard pattern was stamped in Wild Cherry ink after the pig was stamped and masked.

I have loads of ideas for this set! I can't wait to get some more time to play with it :) Now mosey on over to the MFT blog for links to more great projects!!!

Here are links to the available products that I've used today:
