I did some distress sponging and then embossed my stamp with white powder. I added little stars from the stamp set Sleigh Mail. I adhered some tiny twinkles to the centre of some of the larger stars. The black paper was embossed with a woodgrain embossing plate (TE). Dies are all MFT. I added some silver cord and a silver star brad. The tree border was cut in white and vellum, staggered overtop and machine stitched.

Here's a closeup. As you can see, there is a mist of embossing powder. If you know me at all, you'll know that heat embossing is the bane of my crafty existence. I HATE doing it. It's messy. It doesn't turn out half the time. But there are times when you know it's just the right thing to do. Since I am not a fan of the technique, my supplies are sad. I lost my embossing buddy years ago. And EVERY. DANG. TIME. I emboss I am cursing myself for not replacing it LOL! But I wanted a really lit up, starry sky, so I think it works fine this time ;) Hehe!

I think it turned out beautifully, I know what you mean about embosssing, my last try didn't turn out so great, but I'm determined to figure it out! I love the sponged background and the sentiment really does stand out!

It is a very pretty starlit sky. These sentiments are wonderful as the focal point of the card.

I love the look of the embossing! I will have to try this out myself too. I know what you're talking about, I half the time forget to use my EK tool or the old baggy one, then there's trouble!! LOL! Love your card and oh dear more on the "never ever gonna end" wish list!!!

This card is so FUN!
I never would have noticed the embossing powder problem; I think it adds to the starry sky. But I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has troubles with it. I've never had an embossing buddy so I usually swipe my sleeve across the card stock before stamping with the Versamark. It works pretty well, actually.
