{KKS} Embellish It!

Hey there! It's time for another Krafty Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! This weeks challenge is brought to us by Sheri. She wants us to use embellishments on our cards. I used brads, ribbon, button and twine, as well as machine stitching, which I also think is a great way to add a little something to your handmade projects!

I've used one of our newly released sets Happy Haunting for my card....I love this image.

I made a little gifty ensemble that would be great for a sleepover invite, complete with a 'pillow' box to hold a special treat ;) The card was made to look like a pillowcase, with the strip of contrasting DP on the left side and decorative stitching. I used dies by MFT. The DP is October Afternoon. I coloured the girls with copics and added white dots to one of the shirts and their cheeks.

{TI} Fab Friday~ Starry Birthday

Time for another Fab Friday with Tiddly Inks stamps! This week I've used the new Starry Birthday.

She's coloured with Copics and pastels. I paper-pieced her shirt, bow and all of the balloons. Which is not easy when we're talking digital stamps.....lucky for you, this set also comes in clear photopolymer! I used a die from The Cat's Pajama's, some seam binding and a hot pink button, threaded with hemp cord. I used a white paint pen to highlight her necklace. I love the balloons hanging off the paper for an 'outside the box' technique.

{PTI} Stamp-A-Faire 2013

Okay- today I have a VERY different from usual post! This weekend I was home, resting up from a bought of some bug the kids gave me, so I wanted to stay home and just lay low. When I was perusing through my Bloglovin feed, I noticed that this weekend also happens to be Papertrey Ink's Annual Stamp-a-faire. 

I thought to myself 'Hey, I have a decent little pile of PTI stamps and dies that I have been 'collecting', but rarely have any seen ink'. Anyway, I thought this would be a fun opportunity to challenge my creativity, so something different and darn it, use some of the lovely products that I've purchased! (honestly, some sets were still in the original packing and not even put in the CD cases!!!! Gasp!!) PLUS, there are some amazing prizes up for grabs! Who can argue with that?! lol!

This is a long post, so you might want to have a potty break and grab a bevy before we get started, Because I have completed all of the ten challenges, as best that I could!!

My first card is for the Breakfast Bake n Take challenge, which was basically to chose a sketch and a colour recipe to 'bake up your card'.....I used the set On My Couch for this one....the button is also PTI: Holiday Vintage Mix.

Next up is a Christmas card I made for the Tea Staining Technique! This was a fun one!! I tea dyed the vanilla CS snowflakes (Damask Snowflakes die) and some cream seam binding. The sentiment is one of the Think Big Favorites #8.

I really love the simple, yet eye catching look of my next card. I used Betsy's Gallon:Quart:Pint challenge for this one. This set is one that I bought second hand, and I do believe that it was a stamp-a-faire exclusive a few years ago....I could be wrong though! It's called Iconic Images and it's always been one of my favourite PTI sets!

For the next challenge, I used Nichole's Sprinkle of Salt challenge. I die cut the number 30 from By The Numbers die, and the sentiment is from Signature Greetings. Honestly, this challenge threw me a bit! I tried 3 different papers before I LOST it and went on the hunt for my actual watercolour paper. Well, I did find it, but then the salt didn't seem to have the affect that I was hoping for:( Oh well, you win some, you lose some! 

Up next is a card I made using the Limited Ingredients guidelines. This challenge had a specific list of things you ONLY use- nothing else! I don't have any PTI CS, so I had to make due with similar colours that I had on hand. The melon colour is off, I know, But hey, I tried!! I used the fun set Holiday Lights.

This next card was for the Whipping up Scent-sational cards challenge. Those cookies in my jar smell like gingerbread cookies! Yum! I used the following sets: Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, and the matching dies.

Ooooo- this next one is FUN! The challenge was to make your own coordinating mists! I used Up, Up and Away stamp set, Up, Up and Away Sentiments, Up, Up and Away dies, Cloud 1 and 2 dies, and Mat Stack 1 die.

I Love, love, love the simple elegance of this next holiday card! The challenge was called Custom Accents from the Oven...using shrink plastic! Fun!
I made my custom accents using the Damask Snowflakes dies. Once shrunk, I applies glossy accents and added 3 different kinds of glitter. The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #8.

This next one is for the Rolled Dough Designs challenge. I used the tree stamp from the set Love Lives Here- Holiday. The sentiment is from Holiday Lights. I used Mat Stack 1 again.

My last card of the weekend was for the Sweet Sugar Coated Embellishments challenge. I used Think Big Favorites #8 again for the sentiment and for the mug and candy canes, I used Candy Cane Christmas. I made the lower portion of the card using score tape and glitter.

Okay, that's it for me! Phew! Ten cards, all complete!!

{TSGA} Ruh-Roh!

Hi there TSG fans! It's "There She Goes (Again!)" week. We featured 3 "classic" sets from our fabulous selection of stamps and at the end of the week, which happens to be TODAY the Trendsetters will showcase some fresh, new ideas with the sets!

Today I am featuring one of Torico's famous puppy sets called Ruh-Roh:

Love the look on that puppy's face. We've all been there, right?! 

I am deep in the midst of puppy training our sweet little Chihwawa- Corgi (or Chih-corgi as the kids call her!) cross, Ruby.

Ruby has her good days, but she also gets into a fair bit of trouble! She's in 'the doghouse' a lot ;)

Thank goodness they're cute, right?!? I'll share a few pics of our fur baby.....

Here's my card! I pieced her dress, socks and hair bow....that there's some fine cutting! I used some dies from MFT, antiqued silver brads, MFT hemp, SU button and embossing folder (for the heart). I sponged with Distress Ink.

{SSSC191} Cream of the Crop

It's been awhile since I used some Your Next Stamp goodies, and I recently placed an order for some stamps and dies. I was excited to get this set, in particular, inky! I stamped the girl from Howdy, Farmer (which happens to be on SALE right now, along with a lot of other sets!!) in memento ink, and coloured her with copics. I used MFT's Circle Stax dies and Fishtail Flags and Layers dies. The sentiment was stamped in MFT's Black Licorice ink. I used OA's Farm Girl paper collection. Some machine stitching finishes it off! 

I used this week's SSSC (191) for my card layout.

{TI} School Day Fun

This week the challenge at Tiddly Inks is School Day Fun! I always am so sad when it's time for the boys to head back to school.....I love having my littles all at home with me :) My baby is starting pre-school this year too! Only for a few hours, one day a week, but it still makes mama sad! But I know it'll be good for him! And I plan on having a little 'me' time! My gym is just down the street from the church where he'll be going to his 'little boy school' as he calls it (he's not sold on the fact that there'll be girls there). I might even get groceries alone...GASP! I know, right?!

Isn't this guy ADORABLE!?!?! His name is Genius (and he comes with extras!) I used my fave school themed paper: October Afternoon's Schoolhouse. I HOARD this stuff!! I added some MFT hemp cord and a PTI button. Basically, a really clean layout, showing off the fun patterns of the DP. My little buddy is coloured with Copic markers.

{TSG221} Fur Friends

This week our challenge is brought to us by Our Trendsetters! We are challenging you to make a card or project using the Fur Friends theme!!   

I've used one of the sweet skunks from the set Scent-sational. I just love all of the cuties and hilarious sentiments in this set! I've coloured him with copics. Dies are all spellbinders and MFT. DP is MME and CS is Stampin' Up. I've used Mojo Monday #306 for my layout.

Tonight I've used Cheryl Alger's set You're Fang-tastic. My son is obsessed with all things Halloween and Dracula is one of his faves! He wanted me to colour this to look like him! He was VERY impressed with the cape and pieced vest with black rhinestone buttons! lol

He even sat with me and made his own Drac card while I was working on mine! He wants to show you all during the hop, be famous and have Kimmie pay him lots of money to use her stamps! lol! What do you say Kim? ;)

{MFT} Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my sweet mama's Birthday! I think maybe she is turning 55 but I can't be sure. Just remembering that it was today was a challenge enough for me! Last night I got to thinking it was coming up and looked at the calendar and almost freaked when I saw it was today! Thankfully I'm a pre-buyer and have had her present for months!! She has wanted one of those chef's gel mats for in front of her kitchen sink! I know- she's crazy and wild!! :) I also got her some new golf socks....socks and a floor mat. Yes folks, it's heart-stopping action over here!

I made this card for her using MFT's a la mode You're my Cup of Tea.

I added a little teacup and teabag charm hanging off of the flower/button/hemp embellie. The dies (as well as the inside teapot) are from the die set Always Time for Tea. I used MFT's Hemp twine and a Spearmint button. This whole card is distressed using Kraft ink. I also used Kraft, Spearmint, sweet tooth and X-press it Blending CS. The flower die is the Layered Rose. The sentiment flag strip is from Blueprints 2.

Here's the inside. I used another sentiment from the set alm Hot Cocoa Cutie.

Here's Gramma and her boys! I made her an iced cappuccino and added a candle to the whip :) No Birthday cake, but the Birthday Cap was delish!

Hey there! Wow! I am just blown away by the amount of lovely comments on my blog hop post, earlier today, from all of the Tiddly Inks fans out there!! Thanks guys! You made my day :D

I'm back with a Fab Friday post for you...our theme is Anything Goes!! 

I used the cute Beach Babe Wryn. She's available as both clear and digi in the Tiddly Inks shop!

Of course she is coloured with copics and pastels. Bright colours, bakers twine and a lime green button make the card super summery! The sentiment comes with the set! Can you believe I had this image coloured before I even picked out the paper?!? A perfect match! That never happens!
