Tequila Or Margarita's?

So I made a card for the first TCPTUES challenge of the month and it was an inspiration challenge...basically a picture and whatever you get out of the pic that inspires your card, go with that. I always find these the hardest challenges, as they are sooo broad! And I need specific. So I made card #1 and just wasn't happy with it. That was a week or so ago, and so today I revamped the same 'theme' and made card #2 (which I think is the one that I'm most happy with and will submit).
Here is the first card:

I'm not going to get into too many details in this post, but it's a TCP stamp or course! Coloured with copics, crystal effects and stickles added. The salt, lime and tequila brads are SU's build-a-brad. I like the way they came out. No idea where the dp came from, found it in my stash. Ribbon is SU. This was from a MOJO sketch.

And here is card #2:

 Again, TCP stamp set, only this time I covered the lil penguin in black and white glitter. Lots of CE added to the glass, and stickles on Pengy's nose, feet and the umbrella and pineapple. I am obsessed with sewing lately and can barely make a card without it!

The flower button die is TCP and the striped thread is TE. Again, not sure about the DP, CS is Stampin Up. This is Jen's SFYTT for this week.

Eyeball soup anyone??

Did the title of my post grab your attention enough? Bwahaha!! I hoped it would;)
I'm back from a few days hiatus...I've had a wee bit of a cough/cold and the headaches have been ridiculous, so stamping was put on the backburner:( But I managed to grind this little goodie out for ya! It's a fabulous sketch by Mercy and I am lovin this one! It's one I know I'm going to use in the future....ah, I loves me a good sketch...This is also a TCPTUES128 challenge for the coveted position of swanky stamper of the month..doesn't that sound like a fun title to have?? I would practically feel like royalty if I could call myself that;) Haha!

Now, the challenge over at The Cats Pyjamas was to use PJ the Bear, and I only have one PJ and used him/her for the last TCPTUES challenge, so here we are again with another bear:) This time I tried to mix it up a little and so I coloured my PJ purple and made a halloween card.

I stamped her and cut her out after colouring with Copics. I popped her up on a sponged nestie that I framed with black CS and black lace that I ruffled around the nestie. I paper peiced the apron and added some tinsel glitter to the apron strings. I drew in some eyeballs with my copic multiliner and coloured the brew a slimy green. The steam is sponged green and srickles added and the eyeballs have crystal effects applied. I also coloured the cup and saucer with a clear spica glitter pen. Pj's nose and eyes also have a coating of CE.

I stitched around the panels with black thread on my sewing machine and added a black rhinesone to each outer corner.
The panel size is definately 'off' from the sketch, but thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes;) lol

MFT Challenge

Greetings my pets.....are you having a good weekend? I am!! On Friday night I had a stamp class at my house with 16 ladies stamping up a frenzy!!! We made 4 cute cards (I'll post them tomorrow) and I think (?) everyone had a good time! There were a few of my usual girls and a few new ones, so it was nice to see both old and new faces! Thanks to everyone that came:) I also had a garage sale and sold lots of stamp sets, paper, punches, etc. So I had some money in my pocket that I couldn't wait to put to use! Saturday I hung out with the fam, finished making this card (scroll down) and then went into town for the LSS's customer appreciation night. There were lots of good sales, munchies, a nice make n take, and I even won a prize;) I bought some new sweet stamps, the new cosmo cricket 'wanted' paper (De-Lish!!!!) anf some new nesties...can't wait to try them out on a card or two! Today we are taking the boys to the calgary zoo to get in a family day before dad heads off to work for 3 weeks:(
Okay- this challenge was MFT's wednesday stamp club challenge to use dies and mft stamps to create a scene. Immediately I knew that I wanted to create an outdoor scene using 'Tea Party'. This was so much fun!! I loved this challenge! Here is the final product:

 I used various MFT dies to create the sun, clouds, 'rolling hills', grass, and an SU punch to make the 'sign' arrow. I paper-peiced the girl and table and cut out the sweets and teapot and cup. I wanted this little munchkin dressed in her finest tea party clothes, so I added lots of stickles and crystal effects to spiff up her outfit;) I used little pearl adhesives on her shoe buckle and her earrings. There is lots of detail in this card..inking edges, sewing, pop-up, a felt cloud (I even put extra felt underneath to give it a puffier look). The sun and cloud both have stickles as well. The cupcakes have CE added to the cherries and stickles on the icing. I coloured the tea pot, cup and cupcake stand with a clear spica glitter pen to give it a lovely silver look ( you have to use your best at a tea party!) I used 2 different holepunches to give the tablecloth a lacey-type look. The tree is a diecut from the dp package.
I love the way this card turned out!!!!

A Beary Sweet Card!

Good day to you all! I have been so busy preparing all my projects for a card class that I am putting on Fiday night that I have barely had any time to actually stamp just for fun....I did however find some time last night for this little bear:) I am submitting it for the TCPTues127 Swanky Stamper of the Month Contest over at TCP. The challenge this week was to use the colours Teal, Olive and Eggplant. Now this to me is a bit of a different combo, but I actually really like colour challenges, because thats where I lask creativity. I am the kind of person that basically sticks with the same fav colours and doesn't usually go out on a limb with colour selection. As I was making this I thought to myself "man, this is gonna be ugly", but I kept thinking, hey, everyone else is going with the same colours here, so if indeed mine is ugly, then the rest will be too;) LOL!! But I am pleased with the end product and might use this combo again sometime (maybe....)

The layout is MTSC 92, and I have been waiting for a good sketch with an oval image panel to use with my little bear! Isn't she cute? I hand cut her apron out of olive and teal felt and hand stitched it to the paper. She is coloured with copics. I added purple dots to her teacup (or hot chocolate, or highly creamed coffee- whichever you please:) Crystal Effects was applied to the 'tea' to give it a wet, glassy look. The panel is cut and embossed with oval nestie and the eggplant layer with a scalloped oval nestie. The scalloped panel is cut with olive felt and eggplant CS using MFT's dies. The teal CS base is embossed with a swiss dots embossing folder. The sentiment is cut with a tag nestie and sponged, then tied to the twill bow with thread.

A Sympathy Card

Good morning my friends....I finally had a chance to sit down and stamp a sympathy card for my friend who lost her dad about a month ago. I know- it's really late, but Between our 3 week holiday and getting back into the school grind, it just got pushed to the backburner:( I made her a batch of yummy muffins that I'm going to deliver. I used the same SSSC layout as my last post. It's such a quick and easy sketch and it flows nicely.

I stamped the tree in memento rich cocoa and the Verve sentiment in old olive (SU). The image is cut with a circle nestie. I used my brand-spankin new dimensional pearls and daubed each and every leaf with 'espresso', and then went around the circle with 'bottle'. Very simple, but elegant. I like to make my sympathy cards without alot of extras, just heartfelt and to the point, with a clean and simple design.

I love Verve for the fact that they have some really nice Christian sentiments. You don`t find that often and they are so beautiful and the fonts are absolutely gorgeous! And an added bonus, you can buy these individually rather than having to fish out for a whole set:)

A Whale of a Card

Whoop Whoop!!! Second post of the day! Man, I am on FIRE!! LOL! This card I'm about to unviel to you all is seriously C-U-T-E. Be prepared to sigh aloud and say "Awwwwww!!" and even break into applause;) hehe. I'm all about 'blowing my own goat" (??) lately, as the hubby would say:) Without further adieu, I present to you 'A Whale of a Card'

Isn't it just the cutest?? I used The Cats Pyjamas A Whale Of A Time stamp set. I have been itching to use this guy on a card:) This set is so versatile- It would make an adorable baby card I think! I stamped him once on the white/grey dot dp, a 2nd time on the blue dot dp and a 3rd time on the grey swirly dp. I cut out the 2nd and 3rd whales and glued them onto the white/grey dp. You'll see the dimension on the tale section if you scroll down to a view from above angle. I bent the tale up a wee bit so that you can see the blue dot paper underneath. The sailers hat is also stamped twice and popped up and cloured with copics. I added a trim line on the hat with my multiliner and coloured it red. It gave it a little more punch than a plain hat. His little eye is a black baby braddie. The waves are all cut from the wave die (TCP) and every layer is popped up with dimensionals. The effect is really neat IRL!! The circle and scallop circle are cut with spellbinders. The sentiment is cut with nesties as well and also popped up. The panels are a mixture of Oct. Afternoons Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite. I am submitting this card to The Cats Pajamas challenge of the week (use plaid)...I would love some 'cat cash' for sure!!!! The plaid that was used is in the dp and the gingham ribbon of course. Here is a picture taken looking down on the card to show the layers:

The layout is SSSC 86. I am seriously diggin this sketch (so much in fact, that I made a SECOND card using the same sketch!!) Check back later for that one:)

On the inside I used scraps and the negative side of one of the blue dot wave dies. I simply flipped it upside down and the quilted pattern looks like its cut into a wave, when in actuallity, it's the blue pattern that it cut. I love eating up scraps on the inside- it makes you feel good to use bits and pieces up instead of swiping them off the table and into the trash!!

Well, I better get the bruiser bros in the tub!! Thanks for lookin'

30 is the new 20...I think?!

Good morning!! I heard a song on the radio today and it went like this (hear me singing) "Monday...As painful as a root canal". And then my 6 year old told me that he hates monday- it's just sooooo BORING!! I told him that you have to have Mondays to get to the Fridays...he pondered that as he headed out the door. That'll give him something to think about on the bus ride to school this morning!

So tonight its supposed to snow here and we haven't even made it to the last day of summer!! Grrr...Alberta weather makes my desire to live on Vancouver Island so much stronger;)

Onto the card of the day. This one is going out to my friend Sarah- who is celebrating her 30th Birthday soon. I am going to get together with her one night this week for birthday cocktails! So Sarah, if you read this, then act surprised when you see your card, okay? hehe

I used MFT's Birthday Girl a la mode and stamped her in memento tuxedo black onto neenah CS. I coloured her with copics and added crystal stickles to her tiara (of course:), earrings, necklace, dress, gloves, shoes, icing and candle flame. I cut and embossed the image with an oval nestie and sponged with pink piroutte SU ink. I cut gray CS with Labels 10 nestie and added rhinestones to the top and bottom. The sentiment was also sponged with pink ink and matted in gray CS, then popped up with dimensionals. The little bow and cord button are both SU. The layout is a sketch from Jen's SFYTT. Pretty simple, really! I love girly-girl cards though- Being the only female in the house, sometimes its fun to get out the pink (I have to usually buy some, as all I have on hand is boy-stuff) and bling!!

Here is a close-up and you can see the sparkle a bit better here. I wanted to have lots of sparkle, as 30 is a pretty 'special' (read: rough) birthday for most women...me, well, I was in the hospital recovering from giving birth to my latest son, so I couldn't have cared less!! But for those of you not bedridden, sore nipples, scared to poop, eating soggy toast, walking like someones sticking you with a hot poker...then I can see how 30 gives you a good arse-kicking. So hopefully this card cheers her up (and maybe a few Lemon Merengues at Earls!! Yum). So cheers to you Sarah on your 30th!!!
