Kraftin' Kimmie Previews- Cheryl Images

Hi there! I am so excited to be joining the Krafty Girls this month as a Guest DT! Part of the fun is getting to show off the new release stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie!
Today we are featuring stamps by the artist Cheryl Alger. She has such a unique style and you can 'pick a Cheryl image' from a mile away!
I used the sweet little snow-lady called 'A Cup of Cozy Wishes' on my card today...

{TSG126} Mermaid in the Window

Hey there! This weeks challenge at There She Goes is to create a card using only a partial image. Wouldn't my card that I made awhile back, Bachelorette, have been perfect for this one....Oh well;)
I'm going to confess that I actually intended to *follow* this challenge better, but alas, I am a rule breaking deviant.... my 'porthole' was bigger than I thought it would and almost my whole image showed through...and I decided to leave it as is, than to tear the whole dang thing apart!!
So here it is, using one of my latest loves from TSG, Make A Splash....

I have always wanted to try the 'hair gel' window technique (not sure where I first saw this done, but you could probably find it pretty easy on SCS tutorials). Very easy- I coloured my mermaid using blues and violets and a little spica, then I cut her out with a circle nestie. I then made the gel pack using a little plastic bag that something came packaged in. I added a bit of cheap, clear hair gel, squishing it flat, then securing the edge. I then adhered it to the mermaid circle and added the 'porthole' window over the gel sack. I punched 4 small circles of SU's silver CS and added silver i-rock gems over them. Now, I have never been in a submarine, but I think it's likely pretty industrial looking, so I used my checkerplate EF on the main silver panel. The sentiment was stamped on a lilac diecut (TCP) and another die window was made using the same die out of silver. The lilac piece was then embossed with a bubbles folder. There are pop dots between the two for added dimension. I-rocks were added to the sentiment tag as well. SU satin ribbon makes it pretty;)

So, yeah. I really did intend for less of her to be visible!! Like, I was thinking maybe just her upper body and maybe tushie...but it seems most of her is here! Except the splashes, I guess!! {TCPTUES181} Rock & Roll, Baby!

I was all over this challenge our inspiration hostess, Jen. She gave us the FUNNEST challenge ever....Rock & Roll! I know, right!? Exciting! Well, when I was perusing my TCP collection, I came across Bear Hugs, and took one look at the sentiment and knew this was my stamp set of choice! I mean, it matches the title of a classic 70's rock duet (probably one of the best duets of all time) perfectly! And I know my card is leaning towards Madonna's fishnets and glitter, rather than Kiki Dee's polyester overalls....but I'm pretty sure Elton's been known to get a little glittery now and then;)

And here is my card! I also used Home Tweet Home Cutup die to make the music note (one in SU's new silver paper and one for the black 'shadow')....Some black stitching and a strip of sequin trim, as well as the netting and little netted rhinestone bow I made for her hair (or fur, I guess;) add to the Rock-Glam look! The dp is an older FancyPants pack, Roadshow, and I used an embossing folder to add some interest to the plain dp at the top.

The inside features the new Circus Border Cutups topped with a strip of sequin trim as well as Heart Trio Cutups. I stamped another sentiment that comes with the set and made a bit of a skirt with the netting and score tape.

And I couldn't leave you without a taste of this awesome old song (I picked the 1976 or 77 version...as they sang so much clearer in their youth, plus I can't get enough of Elton's upper body wag near the beginning!!! Keep yours eyes pealed for that;) And you gotta love the glasses!



There's also a freaky version by Ol' Dirty Bastard that is a tad painful, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

Hey all- not sure what happened with this card, but somehow, it didn't get on the ol' blog! I made it for my friends little girl, Aleena, who turned 4:)
I used TSG125 sketch, which I got a little creative with and used fish instead of flags! lol

KKS100 & A Krafty Contest!

It’s celebration time at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps today!! Do you know why??? Well, actually it’s for a couple of reasons! Firstly, if you’ve noticed the challenge number.....today is our 100^th KKS Challenge!!! Woohoo! And secondly, this month marks Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps’ SECOND BIRTHDAY!!! Can you believe it?? So we’re doing something special to mark the occasion!

Also, you’ve probably heard that tomorrow is our annual Krafty Day that we are holding for the local stampers and scrappers!! Well, we thought we’d like to do something special for our online krafty friends who can’t be with us in person......so come on back tomorrow to find out what we’ve got goin’ on!!! It’s exciting!!

Okay- onto my card! The challenge this week is to use your favorite KK stamp! That's it! Oh goodness, how can you choose just one? I have so many 'favorites';) Just like my kids....they're all my favorites! This is Merry and although I have never inked her up, she is still one of my faves! She does get her fair share of admiring through the packaging....so you can imagine my excitement at actually making a card with her! My mom loves these Annie Rodrigue images, so I am giving her this one for Christmas.

Isn't she just the most festive gal you've ever laid eyes on?! I wish I knew someone that would cook a turkey dinner in this outfit. Her apron and the diamond pattern on her dress are paper-pieced and the rest is copics....I added red twinkles (TE) to the diamond strip on the dress. A little clear spica glitter pen added here and there for some jazz. I wanted this to have a really vintage feel to go with the amazing new Cosmo Cricket paper. I used a MFT border die. TCP's Easy Rosette cutup die was used to make the little glass-glitter dipped adornment, which was topped with a  black button tied with a beige linen thread bow. And last, but not least, I stitched around the panels using black thread.

 Here are a few detail shots of the glitzy, vintage looking rosette.
