{KKS144} Fortune Teller

Time for another great challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps- this week we want you to use Kraft Card Stock on your projects. I love kraft, so this was a pretty easy on for me....and I sometimes like to colour on it with my copics. I use plain old Stampin' Up crumb cake, and it seems to work well for colouring. You just have to remember that pale colours show up even lighter on kraft, so I tend to use darker shades and more vibrant hues....a scrap paper is essential for checking to see what kind of results you'll end up with when you apply the ink to kraft cs:)

And since we have also been showing you three days of our special Krafty Klub release set, Three Wishes, I am working with Fortune Teller....I have NEVER been to a fortune teller and NEVER will, mark my words!!! Even though that sort of thing is not for me, I still LOVE this one;) She has such a mischevious look in her eye and the details are all perfect- Annie really did an awesome job with these illustrations!

I used MFT's fancy flourish die, cutting it appart to use half on the ribbon embellishment and half to balance down near the corner. Lots of spica glitter pens, stickles and gold brads make the card even more dazzling! (LOVE her big gold hoop in her ear;)

I wanted to go with a really rich, jewel tone colour combo with my card- which works great on the kraft! And when I was thinking about Fortune tellers, the thing that really stood out in my mind, was fabric....layers of cloth draped here and there...different textures, rich colours. I went into my Ribbon Carousel drawer (which will someday be arranged nicely on my carousels that are sitting empty on my desk- GASP!! I think that might be a winter project;) and pulled out some gorgeous samples.....I went with Violet Silky Crushed and Brown silky Crushed, as well as Champagne net ribbon (If you haven't tried the net ribbon, it's one of my faves!! You can cut it to make it narrower with no problems! LOVE!) and of course, I can hardly make a card without pulling out my jute twine stash...here I've used Natural.

You can see more info on the challenge at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog:) Play along this week for your chance to win one of the stamps from this exclusive set!
