Baked With Love (and a SSSC!)

So last night I was dog tired and went down into my stamp room to make sure all the lights were shut off, and wouldn't you know it, ended up making this card!! LOL! You never know when your crafty mojo will hit (or miss)....it's sneaky like that! Crept right up on me, it did;) But I'm glad it did, because there is a very special lady that's turning the big 3-0 in a few days and I didn't want to give her a card that wasn't especially made just for her (even though I have tons of nice cards I could have given her..it just doesn't seem right). She also just so happens to be one of the best chocolate cake makers out there, and I am making her a cake...the pressures seriously on! But I'm sure this busy mom will be happy that she gets a meal and cake cooked for her, no matter what it tastes like!
I used the SSSC this week and I'll be getting this in just under the wire!

I am always going to put this card in My Favorite Things WSC this week (make something cooking/food related). I used MFT's 'Lovin from the Oven' (This main image plus tons of really sweet sentiments) and guess what? I got it for 50% off at the LSS!!!! Love deals like that! Plus I've been eying this one up for awhile:)
I stamped her numerous times on CS and DP and coloured her arms, neck and spoon with copics. I ruffled up some lace (yum!) and stuck it behind her apron bottom. I attached her to a piece of striped dp and ran it all through the bigshot using a deckled rectangle die ( I wanted her upper body and bottom of her dress to be cut with the die) It ended up really sticking the apron down- it was trying to pop up, and it made a crackle pattern on the very thickest layer (which happened to be the bowl), which looks really cool IRL (like the old crackle glass ware Grandma used to have;)
The dp is from Little Yellow Bicycle and it's a really sweet, vintage-y kind of look. And it really thick and strong...its not flimsy whatsoever, really good quality stuff I tell ya! You could even use it as a card base, it's stronger than some CS out there.

I applied crystal effects over the bowl and I love the way it turned out!! you can see the crackle effect the pressure of the bigshot (combined with VERY beat up well loved cutting pads)
