MFTGUESTDT1110, A Busy Bee

I got my hubby off to the airport to go back to work for the next 3 weeks or so,  and came home just in time to get my entry made and submitted for My Favorite Things guest designer for November...You had to use some kind of office supplies for this challenge. I altered a little notebook that I am going to use as my 'to do' book. I used a little metal clip as my office supply and of course the notebook itself:)
I used a lot of layers and machine stitched patterned paper over chocolate CS and distressed the edge of the dp. The main image is stamped and coloured with copics and paper-peiced. I cut the little bee out with a deckled rectangle nestie and sponged with chalk ink. the antenna are 'out of the box'. I cut out a cork label and punched out a peice of patterned paper with a circle punch and adhered that to the cork. The 'busy bee' sentiment is stamped on with memento rich cocoa. I used an SU brown metal clip and tied a taupe gingham ribbon around it. I saw Michele Boyer (one of my favorite stampers) do that with these clips and ribbon(which I find I never know what to do with once I buy them, so thanks Michele for the idea!! Maybe now I'll use some of those darned little things up:) The paper is easy to fit on the cover when you use  the spiral edge punch from Stampin Up. I am totally diggin this designer paper!! I thinks I needs me some more:)
I also added crystal stickles to the antenna and wings and buttercream spica glitter pen to the honey. Since I seem to be such a 'busy bee' I thought it to be a fitting sentiment for the cover of my notebook. I stamped both the sentiment and the inside 'to do:' with TCP's Coolvetica alphabet. Maybe having a To Do list will help me keep my busy self in line and on track and therefore less busy?? ;)

The above picture is really yellow toned, I know, but it shows the glittery wings and antenna the best:)

This is my first ever journal project and I'm overall happy with the way that it came out:) So far I have only stamped 'to do' on the first page, but I think that I might do it on all the pages....and the nice thing about this journal is that when its full, I can tear those pages out and add new ones using the spiral edge punch and some heavy weight CS. No need to EVER throw this away (Note to anyone that may get a journal from me in the future: they should last you the rest of your life and I'll check in every few years to make sure you are still using it..hehe)
Thanks for looking!
