Guest Designer Card

Hi everyone! I am so excited to show you the card that I created as Guest Designer of the week over at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge! Wow- this one was a doozie for me! It was difficult to create a card using an action movie about weapons as my inspiration! But I did it and I am actually pleased with the way it turned out:) The only requirement that the Cinema Sisters had, was that you had to use some kind of metal on your card. I love the movie IronMan and my boys are fans, so I popped it in and watched it with my 4 yr old. Now, you may think that it is only a guys movie about blowing things up and wicked special effects, but I saw a bit of a love story inside this movie about machine guns and missiles. There was a definately a romance blooming between the uber-cool Tony Sparks (played by the fabulous Robert Downey Jr.) and his mousy little assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow-who rocks red hair btw!). So romance was my inspiration for this card!! I had yet to ink up MFT's Bunch of Bots, and I thought that it would be the perfect stamp to use. I stamped the happy couple onto shimmery white CS and embossed. They were dressed up with various brads, eyelets, rhinestone stickers, glitter and stickles. I also sponged some SU shimmer paint over the gold embossed panel to add more shine. The black frame that they are nestled in is a spellbinders die, cut twice to make a frame. The main silver panel is tin foil over CS ran through my Bigshot in a diamond plate (or checker-plate as the hubby calls it) embossing folder. The sentiment tag is also tinfoil over CS cut with a SU! tag die. The sentiment tags are meant to look like dog tags (because of the army influence in the movie) and of course the robot couple symbolize Tony and Pepper and the use of robotics in the movie. The colours are IronMan red, black, gold with some silver 'metal' as well. The layout was also inspired by MTSC91. Hope that you enjoy what I created as this weeks guest designer and a big thanks to Sankari and Brooke for choosing me to join them!
